Grand Hotel Duomo

Booked this hotel for myself and a group of 5 friends. Was really happy with location as it is 2 minutes from the tower and the sights. This hotel is classed as 4 star but I think it should be 3 star. Dated decor, like walking back in time to 1972!! despite this, we all thought the hotel had Italian hospitality and although the rooms were basic, they were cleaned every day and the drinks in the mini bar were cheap. Would stay there again.

After we checked out and got to airport our flight was cancelled because of fog in Liverpool. I managed to get a cheap deal at another Hotel near the railway station. The Hotel Terminus and Plaza was a 4 star and it was reflected in its rooms. modern, nice bedding, double glazing and great breakfast room.Location was a 20 minute walk from the tower and in a more run down/grotty area, as it was next to the railway station. Both great value for money hotels. The Grand Duomo for its location and cheap mini bar and the terminus and plaza for quality and breakfast

Unique Quality: Great views from the front facing rooms at the Grand Duomo. One of us had a single room in the back which had a lovely view of a wall and a cactus. Poor guy, never mind he got it cheap so what did he expect!!

Directions: close to the leaning tower was the Grande duomo Hotel and the Hotel Terminus Plaza was by the railway station, beware of doggy poop on sidewalk when walking back to hotel at night!!

This Hotel is so central and clean and has good staff and a good breakfast ( the orange juice is the best I have ever tasted) look out of your window you see the Leaning tower a view of the Eiful Tower from a french hotel puts ££££££ on top of the price

Unique Quality: The bar is very large for a hotel bar the roof is a good place for photos the staff are very helpfull and the price was unbelievable booked through Expidia the airport is a 15 min taxi ride away and the trainstation is close you can get a bus to Florence about 1/2 an hour away

I stayed two nights and found this hotel to be okay. I could see the Duomo, Tower, etc. from my bedroom window which was great. The room was small and old fashioned but the bathroom had obviously just been renovated and was great - bidet and power shower. As it was winter, the restaurant was closed so the only food I could get in the evening was a sandwich in the bar - the barman was really nice and spoke perfect English! I think 3 stars would be more suitable for this hotel.

Unique Quality: Great view from some of the rooms and very convenient for the tower.

In Via Santa Maria, about 150 Meters from the leaning tower. Good, old fashioned rooms and a excellent breakfast. The four stars are italian style - I say three are right.
Absolutely price worth.
By taxi/cab 10 Euros from airport.
