Ideal for what it is
This hotel is beside the train station, and within easy reach of the airport (there is a train link, but for Eur 9 the hotel will pick you up).
The rooms are big spacious clean comfortable and haven't been decorated in my lifetime....
Breakfast was alright- a generous continental breakfast.
Its about a 20 minutes to walk to the tower but its a very pleasant walk through the middle of the town.
If you are into glamour and style this hotel isn't for you. But if you want a clean comfortable convenient hotel this is hard to beat.

Cosy bar!
We’ve been in this hotel in February and was a pleasant experience. The room was big enough, clean and warm. The buffet breakfast was plentiful. All the staff deserves 5 stars and I will even give 6 stars to Mr. Elia from the bar!
Mr. Elia is running the hotel bar and in the evening you can enjoy a simple dinner or a taste of Tuscany’s beast cheese and salami, together with a good wine. As he’s very kind and friendly, the music was simply the right one and the wine list is very large we spend there every evening enjoying every minute of it.
Unique Quality: I liked a lot mr. Elia's bar, his kindness and the tasty food and wine he's offering!

Extremely convenient
It's not a place with good views, but the Hotel La Pace couldn't be better in terms of location. It's just a minute's walk from the railway station (5 minutes by train to Pisa airport, an hour and a bit to Florence or La Spezia) and the same from the bus station.
The hotel entrance is in an arcade which, although somewhat grubby, is perfectly safe (there are CCTV cameras).
I booked a double room for one person, at the same price as a single. In fact it was four rooms: bedroom, bathroom with TV, 'sitting room' with chairs and TV and a built-in 'dressing-room', which was incredibly useful for storing suitcase/clothes and so on. The rooms were all extremely clean, and the towels (the Italian thin linen type) and bed linen were changed daily. The bed was comfortable enough, although it would have been a bit 'cosy' for two people, and there were extra pillows and blankets in the dressing-room.
The hotel has two computers for internet access and a wide-screen TV in the foyer. Breakfast was the usual continental type: meat, cheese, rolls, preserves and so on. Nothing spectacular, though the coffee was (usually) good and the croissants/cakes scrummy. The juice was actually what I'd call 'squash', made from concentrate and diluted with water: peach or grapefruit when I was there.
Staff were all pleasant and helpful, mostly with good English. They were happy to keep my valuables in the hotel safe, and have a lockable room for storing bags after check-out. The hotel runs a shuttle minibus to/from the airport, for 3 euros each way (October 2008).
Unique Quality: It's the location which makes this a good choice, at a reasonable price. Other hotels similarly priced, which I saw on my Pisan walks, were substantially further out.
It's about a 20-minute walk from this hotel to the Campo dei Miracoli, but Pisa has much more to offer than that.......and the simplicity of the airport>hotel journey more than makes up for its distance from the main tourist sights.
Brasserie La Loggia, just over the road towards the city centre, is a pleasant and friendly place to have a coffee/wine/meal/snack.

Close to the train station
Hotel La Pace was a pleasant hotel located almost right across the street from the train station. Not luxurious, but comfortable, our room had everything we needed for a good night's sleep before heading out. Breakfast was included in the price, and it was very good with a selection of breads, cereals, meat, cheese and juices.
The staff in the reception area were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel has a computer with internet access available for a slight charge (1 Euro for a half hour). They also have a shuttle that will take you to the airport.
Unique Quality: There is a bar / restaurant at the hotel on the first floor. They serve simple meals and have a good wine selection.

unique experience
The 4th of February I’ve stayed for the second time in this hotel.
The room was big with a large bathroom and extremely clean.
The staff was very friendly and we felt ourselves like home.
The hotel is closed to the train station and to the main Corso (street with shops), on a walk distance from the famous Piazza Dei Miracoli.
Unique Quality: After 5p.m. the bar is open and behalf pasta and long drinks, you can have a taste menu with typical Tuscan cheese and cold cuts, along with a great wine (they have a long list of good wines you can choose from).
Mr. Elia, the one serving and advising you if needed, it’s a wonderful person, professional and kind, doing his best to make you time pleasant and let to prove a little bit of Tuscany’s best cheese and wine.
So if you’re tired after all the sightseeing or you just want to have a pleasant and relaxing evening, take your chance on this wonderful opportunity!

OK but we are staying elsewhere next time
It was nice to be greeted warmly from a flight that didn't arrive until midnight and to have friendly staff produce an endless succession of snacks and bedtime drinks, and our room was a generous size with a good bathroom and nice and clean though a very long time overdue for a facelift. But the friends we were travelling with weren't so lucky and found themselves in a dingy broom cupboard. We weren't as lucky in the breakfast experience as others have been either - again everything seemed a bit dingy and tired.
Lovely staff, great location, let down by decor several years overdue for a coat of paint

Very nice and helpful staff
I just came from two days in Florence and I stayed for one night in Hotel La Pace in Pisa since my flight was late and the next morning I had to catch a train for Florence. I have to congratulate with this hotel cause it is really nice and very conveneient for travelling since it is exactly in front of Pisa Centrale. The staff was very nice and they picked me up from airport. In fact the next day since there was a train strike they accompanied me to the airport to catch the Terravision.
I don't have bad things to say about it since everything was great... breakfast, room, staff excellent.
I will surely suggest it even if you are staying for few days or for longer.

A handy spot
The hotel was clean and convenient. The staff at the desk were very helpful and informative.
The breakfast was good continental fare and filled the gap till linch.
It was a pleasant stroll up the Corso Italia to all the shops from the hotel and the convenience of having a free shuttle bus to take us to the airport was very useful.

One of the best!
Comfortables Hotel in a quiet, centrally located position, II category, 70 rooms with bath, satellite TV and telephone. American Bar, Restaurant, TV room, air conditioning, 2 elevators.Private Garage 13,00, free parking on the steet. All credit cards welcome. Open year round. At the time of the booking the hotel required to know if the guest wish to book a double or a twin room, if this issue will be not clarify the hotel reserve to book the room there is available at the time of the check-in.
