Hy,
Yes, your hotel is very close to the Leaning Tower and the cheaper way is by train. In front the Pisa airport there is Pisa aeroporto railstation, cacth thr train to Pisa centrale, change to Pisa S. Rossore, get off here, 100mts walking and you'll be in hotel. Total fare: 1.10€ O/W.

Alternatively, you could get off the airport train ( a veeery slow 5 minute ride to P Centrale) and get a taxi to the hotel.

Or you could take the Rosso line bus from the airport and get off at 'Torre'. Timetables here (click on the stop name) and map of route(click 'cartina').

Put your hotel's address into google maps to see exactly where it is in relation to P Rossore and where the bus stops.

Travel Tips for Pisa

Make Pisa a Day trip

by guell

With our jam-packed itinerary (see my Italy page) we decided to keep our visit to Pisa very short. Pisa is perfectly located between Siena and the Cinque Terre, so upon our arrival to Pisa we immediately caught a taxi straight from the train station to the Cathedral Complex and spent about three hours there. Then we took a taxi back to the train station and left to Monterosso al Mare. It worked out perfectly!

Duomo/Cathedral

The building of the Cathedral began in 1063 by the architect Buscheto, and consecrated in 1118 by pope Jealaus 11 while still incomplete. It was finished in the 18th century by Rainaldo, who paid special attention ot the beautiful dolor combinations of the marbles used for the façade

Here it is the Cathedral of Pisa together with its campanile (the leaning tower) and the Baptistry facing the west front of the cathedral form one of the most impressive groups of buildings in all Europe.

Luminaria De San Ranier

by keeweechic

Luminaria De San Ranier - Pisa is an atmospheric place to be during June, and the night of the 'Luminaria' is a particularly special one, when 50,000 plus candles and blazing torches illuminate and define the buildings on both sides of the Arno.

Most people reach the famous piazza, take some pictures of the tower, maybe visits the duomo, and leaves without seeing the magnificent cemetary. It's located in the same piazza of the duomo & the tower, but it's less frequented by tourists so it's very peaceful. It's built with white marble and it's beautiful.
While strolling in the cemetary I saw a statue of a somewhat frightening monk. When I read the plaque on it I've discovered that this is the tomb of Fibonacci, a monk who discovered the famous series of numbers named after him. Everyone who studied undergraduate math or computer sciences must know what I'm talking about, as a software engineer it was a nice surprise to reach this tomb.
