Hotel Il Convento

My boyfriend doesn't like to plan every detail in advance when we travel. He enjoys the spontaneity of popping up where ever and hopefully we will be pleasantly surprised where we end up. On this particular day of our trip, we had no hotel reservations for the evening. We checked out a few places but they were not to our liking. So, I turned to my trusted Eyewitness Travel Guide for Italy and looked at hotel recommendations for surrounding cities near Pisa. And, voila, this one sounded great. It was located high upon a hillside over looking the city and countryside. The hotel is quite elegant by Italian standards of hotels and clean. We chose a room with a view so the overnight stay was €120,00.

The hotel provided a decent breakfast. Order a cappucino instead of having coffee Americano (Nescafe). We enjoyed our overnight stay. It was a little noisy because the frogs were up all through the night and the birds were chirping quite early in the morning (sounded like right outside our window). But, it was better than listening to traffic go by.
