The hotel is located a couple of kms from here by sue_stone This is a Best Western Hotel, and for people who had been staying in one star accommodation for a few weeks, it was luxury!! We stayed at the Palazzo Dei Priori back in 2002. It is located on the outskirts of Siena, a couple of km's from the centre of town - not the greatest location, but do-able.
Service was friendly and helpful, and the buffet breakfast was more than adequate, in fact we were quite excited by the fact that cereal was available after weeks of only bread & croissants! The room was really nice - spacious and comfy, with a clean, modern bathroom. We really enjoyed our stay here. It was peaceful and relaxing. There was a bus that went from the end of the road into the centre of town, or alternatively, a taxi ride was only a few euros. I think the hotel may also have a shuttle service these days.

 | Hotel Santa Caterina: Sleeping with my Patron Saint

A Tuscan Garden by Callavetta St. Catherine is the patron Saint and hometown girl of Siena, and this hotel is without a doubt one of my favorites. Located just outside the walls of the City, near Porto Romano and the Psychiatric Hospital (!), leaves it with easy access to the town, without being actually in the tourist hustle and bustle of the City walls. Not more than 10 or 15 minutes walk to the famous piazza, the views from the windows of the hotel are glorious Tuscan countryside.
While the rooms are very nice, the staff incredibly accommodating and the location perfect, it's the giardino that makes this my favorite Sienese home. Guests arre welcome to take their breakfast into the garden where tables are set up. I loved reading in the afternoon out here. It was so peaceful and lovely. Il Canto del Sole is a B&B located in an 18th century Tuscan farm house, 10km south of Siena. We stayed there for one night in Sep 2007, as we wanted to get out in the countryside and relax for a night. The main farmhouse building has 6 rooms, and there are a few others located in the outhouses. Attached to the farmhouse is a lounge and games room, with an impossible pool table, and the restaurant where dinner and breakfast are served. There is also a swimming pool, a BBQ area, and panoramic views over the valley. The rustic rooms are attractively decorated, and we were lucky to be allocated a room in the main farmhouse, which was much nicer than those in the other buildings. The bathrooms are modern and clean.
The owners, Laura & Luciano, are friendly and make you feel very welcome. They have a son (who enjoys playing with visiting kids) and some friendly pets. They are happy to offer advice and information in regards to sightseeing in the local area and beyond. All guests can enjoy dinner at the B&B, though you must advise them in advance (see my restaurant tip for more details). I would highly recommend it, particularly as there is nowhere else around to eat. Breakfast is buffet style and there are lots of tasty cakes.

Porta Camollia by croisbeauty Since I never make booking in advance, had no idea where to stay in Siena. It is my habbit to walk around for a while when visiting unknown destination in order to get idea where to stay. If possible, I am looking for the hotel which is in a walking distance from the major historic sights of the town. At the end, I was lucky to find an free room at hotel Italia which is situated just a hundred meters out of the city walls, next to Porta Camollia.
"Italia" is well positioned three stars hotel with comfortable airconditioned rooms and bathroom. There is also mini-bar, TV set and free acces to the internet. The only thing I found unconvinient is the parking, which is very small and for few cars only. The hotel stuff is most helpful and very friendly. My single room, breakfact inclooded, cost me 65,00 euros. Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: "Viale Cavour,67", Siena null

The Bathroom (Obviously) by jag17 Out of the five hotels we stayed at in Italy, this was by far our favorite. Large rooms and bathrooms, wood ceilings, and an incredible view over the hills of Tuscany. Several sitting areas on the ground floor to read, play games, write postcards, or just enjoy the peace and quiet of the area. Breakfast is served in the courtyard (weather permitting).
Charming hotel with a very helpful staff, and beautiful grounds. 2 computers available (free) in the lobby area for guest use. Free parking also included. Pool in monaciano (Tuscany - Siena) by apterix Excellent location, amazing views. We stayed at Poggio, 2 families with 4 and 5 children. the rooms are very comfortable and spacious. It was somehow too hot untill late in the evening but we had been there at the very big heat of August 2003 and it should not be a problem in a regular summer. The pool is very nice and big enough to have a lot of fun

by ExGuyParis Palazzo Bruchi, a small, charming B&B, is located in Palazzo Landi Bruchi, an 18th century building 200 meters from the Piazza del Campo. Rates range from 50 to 135 €-- the cheapest rooms do not have a private bath. See their Internet site for photos of the rooms.
A historic building in a historic district of a historic town... a beautiful setting, at affordable rates.

Tuscany Siena Monaciano chianti by allodola I really needed two week of relaxing and soft tourism and Monaciano was the right place for me and my family. Right in the countryside is just ten minutes close to Siena you can chose at the very last minute what to do next: trip around, going to restaurant, join cultural activities (many concert during summer) or just staying into the pool.
