If it were not for the leaking roof...

If it were not for the leaking roof, this place would have rated a perfect 10. Don't let this minor issue (the leaking roof, that is) deter you from staying here - just ask nicely and they'll gladly give you another - far more better one - just like they did when the roof over my room leaked (and boy, how it did!). They gave me the adjacent room - bigger and with a balcony overlooking Siena's Stadio Comunale - and there was an upcoming match with fierce rival Fiorentina that weekend!

Aside from the lovely room upgrade (unintended, but still a welcome treat, especially tbe balcony view of the stadium), Chiusarelli excels in authenticity (the hotel is one of the oldest in the city, built in 1870), architectural beauty (it looks like a magnificent palazzo from outside), well-appointed, comfortable rooms and generous breakfast buffet served in the veranda. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Highly recommended.

Awesome Siena Hotel

I highly recommend this unique boutique hotel. We booked as a special that included breakfast and dinner. This hotel has an excellent location. Within an easy walking distance to Siena's historical center. Main bus station is only a couple of blocks. Good location to take day trip excursions to Tuscany. Our room had a terrace that overlooked a park. The service was excellent at this location. The "food" especially dinner was spectacular and even if you do not stay at this hotel you have to have dinner here. Every meal was cooked as we watched from the dining room. The chef interacted with us and spoke english and both meals(Dinner) were our most memorable meals in Italy.

Unique Quality: This is a unique one of a kind hotel. Some rooms have a city view on the street side. Our room had a terrace with a park view. There was seating on the terrace in our room and it was very quite. There are areas in the hotel to stretch out and read or look at various books about the area and Tuscany. This is a great location to make as a central point for day trips including Florence. Florence is a one hour bus trip. Buses leave about every hour. I highly recommend this hotel and the unique experience it is also one of the most reasonable hotels on our trip although I have to say the most memorable.
This hotel has an excellent web site: http://www.chiusarelli.com

Places to stay in Siena

by gabasto

Hello!
My wife and I are going to visit and stay in Siena for a few days in March. I was wondering if anyone knew of good restaurants, hotels and the best way to do day trips to San Jeminano, Florence, etc from Siena. Thanks,
-g.

A reasonable hotel is Hotel Chiusarelli, we had customers ther who were happy as it is in the center.
