You can see how narrow are streets between old buildings in the center.
On the left you can see majestic San Domenico barn-like Gothic church.

Hello, Wow you are a brave woman. Yes, You can purchace what ever you need in Siena as long a you are not to particular. There is a department store a short distance from the bus station( Piazza Antonio Garmsci) when you enter the city. I believe is is just a block away in the Piazza Giacomo Matteotti.
thanks so much!

Unlike Florence where you have to fork out hundreds of euros to enjoy its treasures in its museums, many of Siena's attractions are just lying somewhere in an obscure corner waiting to be discovered by the more adventurous tourists - or gloriously revealed in the city architecture - all for free. Location also plays to Siena's advantage. The hilly location and the city's twisting alleys and streets mean lots of photo opportunities. All these are best enjoyed and experienced by just getting lost in the maze of medieval streets, wander around and soak in that distinctively gothic Sienese vibe.

We came to this restaurant by coincidence. We were looking for a restaurant of the beaten touristic path and saw this one down a sidestreet. The restaurant is located in some kind of a cellar. It has a lovely interior and on the menu you can find local Tuscan food.
This square is the heart of Siena. You will always find a lot of people here. It is famous for its unique shape. The square is very spacious and looks like a shell. The central part of the square is made of bricks arranged like a fish bone and divided into nine parts by white stonestrips, which commemorate the Rule of the Nine. At the base of the shell you will find the Public Palace.
The beautiful clam shell shaped plaza at the heart of Siena. Seems to be "the" gathering spot of the city... Also the location of the famous Palio Della Contrade, which is a medieval horse race run around the perimeter of the Plaza..
Great place to kick back and relax, and contemplate the day's activities....
