Villa Piccola Siena Italy

I do not recommend this place

I cannot recommend the "villa" piccola siena.

The "villa" is a small, nondescript hotel right in modern Siena on a very busy, loud street, almost miles walking from the old city. And room rates @ approx. $150 + /night are a very bad deal for Siena.

In addition, this was the only place in Europe (2001) where they demanded when I checked in to hold my passport for hours (they would not accept a copy), then when I returned at the agreed time hours later to reclaim it, they had trouble finding it.

The two guys working there lacked any warmth or empathy of any kind. I was made to feel like a pain in the arse if I had a question or needed anything.

The room was dark, shabby and faced the building/brick wall next door (about 2 ft. away). The breakfast in the basement was nothing to write home about.

This picture and their literature implies it is a tuscan villa, but the place I stayed at in downtown siena was anything but.

In their defense, the do supposedly have a farmhouse in the country that is a better place to stay.

I hope it has changed or been improved, I take no pleasure in writing any of this.

Unique Quality: They do make it easy and do deliver to you (at additional cost of course) a Smart Car (Mercedes) for touring the countryside. All you do is reserve it, pick it up outside the lobby, and return it to the hotel.

Touring Tuscany in a smart car is something I would recommend to anyone. I really enjoyed it. But you don't have to stay at Villa Piccola Siena to do that.
