Zebrafarm Guesthouse: This is most likely my best ever tip.

One of our best friends has opened her house to guests as an Agrotourism farm. 20min drive west of Orvieto this is where I stay when in Umbria. We use this as our base to escape the tourists, catch our breath before head back into another big city. Oh it has an in ground swimming pool that Saviana built her self while pregnant, she is quite something!

One of my best memories of staying here before getting married in Orvieto was having a bath under the old oak tree on the hill. The bath sits over a fire pit and with the light of the fire under you flickering on the trunk, and the moon through the leaves..... it was great.

Unique Quality: This large old farmhouse has been restored by our dear friend Saviana, an expert in organic permaculture farming. There are four very large rooms in the old house, which looks over the valleys of Umbria. The house has showers, baths and toilets, but if you want to get into the organic spirit, there is a drop toilet near the chook house with a great view.
