We were spoiled in Perugia !!!

My wife and I , with two other couples, stayed overnight at the Sangallo Palace Hotel while on our way to a Villa for a week just outside of perugia. How luckey we were !! The hotel was great, good food, excellent front desk staff, especially (Pjero). He helped us get to the car rental location, gave great directions on how to get to our Villa etc etc etc. His team member made the extra effor to make sure that we had water with us for our short drive. It was all done with a SMILE !!

Great place to stay

Location location location ....loved this hotel staff very friendly and willing to help most speak english, great breakfast, rooms are very comfortable would definatley come back here my teenage sons also had a great time as it was close to everything

Exquisite Perugian Lodging

If you are planning on a trip to visit the beautiful town of Perugia, I would highly recommend stopping at the Sangallo Palace Hotel for a few nights. While it is farely reasonably priced, it is idealy located with a gorgeous view and within walking distance from the center of town. The staff there were also very accomodating and helpful, as my Italian speaking skills aren't really the best. Also within the Hotel there is a great restaurant in the basement level which is another offered convenience. Overall this Hotel surpassed my needs as a traveler and would recommend it to anyone thinking of traveling to Perugia.
A Good Choice

This is a pretty good hotel, it is a bit outside the historic centre just beyond the walls and down the hill near the bus station. It is spacious and comfortable and was very modern in the 1980's I would say. The location is in fact fine as there is an escalator that takes you up to the old town. We enjoyed our stay, the gym and pool in the basement are excellent although there is no Sauna.

Travelling in a group of 4 girls for a weekend away this hotel is ideal.
The rooms where spacious with good facilities (hairdryer in both our rooms wasn’t great though)
The location of the hotel is good at the bottom of the escalators it takes 5 mins to get up to the main historical town centre. Note the escalators stop at 1am (the walk down the hill isn’t bad and you just follow the crowd!) The hotel is located beside the bus station but the railway station is on the other side of the hill (11 euros taxi ride away)
The staff where extremely helpful and spoke very good English
The breakfast was more than adequate for a continental breakfast.
The lounge/ bar space isn’t great within the hotel if you are looking for somewhere to relax. The pool was smaller than we expected from the photos but was warm and good for relaxing.

This was such a good choice! Having booked a single room, I didn't have high expectations but I was so pleasantly surprised. I could hardly believe my luck, especially for the price. The room was spacious and attractive, modern without being soulless, and with views over the hills (wonderful sunsets). Really good bathroom with everything supplied. The restaurant was surprisingly good, with lovely, welcoming staff I could hardly praise highly enough (hotel staff were likewise very good). The location is also very good - very close to the centre of the old town (but much quieter I suspect). It's also very easy to do day trips to neighbouring towns by train. Perugia has good public transport and buses to the station stop just across the street from the hotel - it's only a 10-15 minute trip down to the station for one euro. I got to Assisi, Cortona and Arezzo by train cheaply and easily. I wish I could have stayed longer in Perugia and in this hotel - I'd love to go back.
Favorite Hotel in Central Italy

I stayed here with my father in November 07 and was pleasantly suprised how nice it was. They had the nicest showers and beds of any of the hotels we stayed in in Italy. We ended up switching our plans at the end of our trip so we could go back through Perugia and stay at Sangale Palace. The staff was really friendly and the location is perfect. I will attach a picture of the view from our room. I recommend this Hotel to any American traveler.
Perfect Fit for our Needs

We traveled from the States to visit our son attending a local University. Sangallo Palace was ideally located (10 minute walk to Centro) and the 2-room suite arrangement was perfect for our family of 4. We arrived by car and parked in the parcheggio adjacent to the hotel. The hotel staff was very helpful and tolerant of our limited Italian. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Windows opened for fresh air. Breakfast was a broad buffet that satisfied the varied tastes of our family. We would stay again without hesitation.
Top hotel in Umbria

My stay in this beautiful hotel was very pleasant, from the very moment I arrived there. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully furnished. I had a room on the top floor with a lovely view over the valley. The decor throughout is impeccable with the same patterns (from local history) appearing in the rooms as well as in the restaurant and hall areas. The room and bathroom were perfectly clean when I arrived and stayed that way throughout my stay.
The restaurant offered outstanding local and international dishes which most definitely must cause competition to the local restaurants nearby.
The people behind the desk were very friendly and helpful with giving suggestions of what to visit in Perugia and beyond.
I can strongly recommend this hotel, not only for its style, service and outstanding cleanliness, but also for its brilliant location in the town centre. And for its charming staff!

This is a fantastic hotel, excellent location, great rooms, breakfast and the service from Piero at the front desk, David for maintenance and Esthercita at the breakfast room is fantastic.
