Magic place, breathtaking view

La Torriola is a country villa with self catering apartments with an incredible view upon the hill of Todi. I recommend it for its charming reception, high quality of the facilities and amenities, and most of all the inestimable attractions of Todi

Unique Quality: Incredible panoramic view of the place from your bed!

All that's Best about Umbria in One Place

La Torriola is a superior "agriturismo" - a former farmhouse complex tastefully converted into 5 apartments (for 2 - 4 people) using a lot of organic wood for the apartment fittings. The location is a dream: the property is set on a hillside, facing across the valley of the Tiber to the town of Todi, nestling on top of the hill. The place is very clean and well cared for, inside and out, with firm, comfortable beds (a very important point) and a beautiful 12m pool, surrounded by rose bushes, rosemary and lavender. We have stayed here 6 times now in 6 consecutive years, so this recommendation comes from the heart. There is everything you need, from laundry room to table tennis. Each apartment has its own outdoor area, patio or balcony.
The kitchen facilities are fairly basic, amply equipped for making breakfast or a simple meal but not for gourmet cooking - which is offered at more than a handful of local restaurants within a 10 minute drive.
You need a car, as the property is not served by bus/rail routes, and the price for the peace and quiet is a 2 minute drive up the narrow road from Pian di San Martino.

Unique Quality: The view from all the apartments is breathtaking - particularly in the early morning when the clouds gather in the valley and Todi emerges above them on the opposite hilltop.
The pool and jacuzzi are thoughtfully located and beautifully offset by the surrounding gardens.
The property is completely enclosed, with an automatic gate, and there are spacious lawns - making it a fine proposition for families with small children.
The most unique factor is the owner, Maurizio Giannini, a man of great personal charm and the ideal host. An attorney by training, he speaks fluent English and knows the area particularly well as he worked for many years in regional development.
Some of the local hiking trails depart from just outside the property.
The town of Todi - 10 mins by car - has been voted the place with the best quality of life on earth by a US university study.
The local wines, particularly the reds from the Montefalco region or from Orvieto (35 mins by car) are memorable.

lovely place, superb accommodation

Stayed there half week in September.Only one word: gorgious.
My kid was mad for all the open space, garden, trees, small animals, and most of all for the freedom and safety (the property is totally fenced).
My wife and I had the choice between laying under the sun near the pool, relaxing in the jacuzzi, or walking along the narrow roads of Todi (an incredible town, one of the best in Italy)

Unique Quality: The setting is excellent, the atmosphere is magic, the service and the quality of the premises is ove average

out of it all

I have spent a weekend at La Torriola, a villa in the countryside of Todi, surrounded by incredible hills and olive groves. There are very nice self catering apartments, whose decoration and furniture are quite original (all hand made in a warm coloured wood). It is a relaxing place, with a wonderful and well manteined garden, a nice pool with hot tube (it was closed, as it is open only on summer season). I was with my friends and had a very good time, but I think that also a family with children would enjoy it.

Unique Quality: Landscape and view are unique.
The olive grove and the garden invite you to lay under the sun.
The high quality of every detail (the villa is well kept, vey clean).
The owner is friendly and helpful, never intrusive
