Appropriate attire for visiting Todi churches
by karenincalifornia
The Todi visitor who wishes to see the inside of the churches needs to wear the same type of attire required of other places in Italy. For women, that means no shorts or sleeveless tops. My daughter and I wore our "church clothes" on the day we hit all the Todi churches. Todi can get hot during the summer, so I packed a linen top and a pair of linen capris.
Balloons!!!

"The Fiesta"
Every year Todi has a Balloon Fiesta, a great sight, lots of hot air balloons flying around the Umbrian countryside.
I was asked by friends to drive to Todi to join them, as a hobby I 'work' as a navigator/ground crew for a balloon.
A fantastic few days, we flew each morning and then had breakfast, a wander around the old town of Todi or the other gorgeous villages nearby of Aquasparta, Terni (Marmare waterfalls) and Orvieto!
We had one night in which we were asked to do a night glow next to the Lago di Cobara (near the awful campsite we stayed in!). Unfortunately the wind was too strong there to safely do the glow although a few balloons were inflated, but not in the safest of conditions!
"Marmare Waterfalls"
On an afternoon without the balloon, we went to Marmare. Near Terni it's an incredible noise of water. Really needing your own transport, we drove up to the top of the falls and walked down for the view. Impressive to say the least, from the bottom it was wonderful but wet!
Beware if you do go, they do stop the water on occasion so you just see a trickle!
