Hotel Catullo

Great location

We stayed in this hotel for 7 nights at the beginning of June. The hotel is in a great position right on the harbour. We paid extra for the superior room which was excellent. Very spacious, clean and new. Good size bathroom although you might struggle in the shower if your on the larger side.

Only downside was the view as we weren't overlooking the harbour, we had a room on the back overlooking a bar & a building site (never seemed to be any work going on though). There was live music every night but it finished at 11 pm and the double glazing was excellent. In fact, the room was so quiet we slept in nearly every morning. Overpriced minibar (just buy water and lager from a shop).

It rained everyday while we were there but it didn't spoil our holiday at all. The trip to Venice is a must. We booked through the Thompson rep. It is possible to walk to Garda (takes about 80 mins at a slow pace along a nice pedestrian walk along the lake) The walk to the town in the other direction takes longer, maybe 100 mins and the paved path does end half way and its just sand and gravel so sensible shoes are needed.

Great atmosphere in town, lots of restaurants and bars, feels very safe, no drunks and most tourists are 60+.

Unique Quality: one of the only hotels right on the lake front, nice pool area and a good restaurant.
