Pleasant Hotel in Chioggia

Some of the rooms have a view of the canal, I was lucky to get one on the 4th floor and there is a elevator. Free wi-fi access in the hotel foyer and in the rooms on the 1st floor. It was nice to have a kettle in the room with a supply of tea, coffee and biscuits.
The hotel is right at the entrance to the historic center and it is only 15 minutes to walk to the train station or the water bus stop to Venice. There are plenty of very good sea food restaurant in the vicinity of the hotel. Breakfast is not included but there is a Bar around the corner where you can get Cappuccino and sweet pastry or sandwich. The conicerge and receptionist are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to nature and beach and 2 hours from Venice with a combination of boat & bus, ferry and boat, from July to Sept only 1 hour by express boat direct at 9am and back at 5pm.

Unique Quality: Nice view of the canal and the Duomo from some of the rooms.

Travel Tips for Chioggia

Some locals do care

by croisbeauty

It takes small amount of money and lots of love to make our homes like very charming places. There are those among us who tend to transform their towns in a better places and even if it is just a small effort we should all thank them. Wouldn't it be nice all windows in all our places look alike to those on the pictures?

Ultimate Boats and Ships Town

by painterdave

"Chioggia -- Fishing Center of the Veneto"

If you like boats, if you like those painted boats you see in postcards, if you like to smell the sea and feel the air, if you want to get away from the tourist crowds, and if you want to taste fresh seafood right off the boat, then you should visit Chioggia.
This town, roughened by fishermen whose hands tell the story of their work, is so interesting and different than nearby Venice. The boats are lined up along the docks, so bring your cameras and enjoy the day as you walk along the many streets parallel to the water and that lead away from the docks.
This is not essentially a tourist town, and I first heard of it when I noticed that a lot of American painters were bringing their classes here for a week of painting. So i went to check it out, and found out this is quite the place for charm.
If you have extra days for visiting the beach, there is a "wild" beach near here, too. Wild to italians is not wilderness, but you do have to hike a little over 5 minutes through the woods to get there. See my tip and also one on a fine restaurant.
I am including here some fotos of boats to show you what to expect.

The town has canals like Venice for their small boats. You can walk along most of these and use the sun for your camera shots.

Chioggia / Little Venice

"Chioggia city"

Nice city with canals and a long pedestrian road.
About 20.000 inhabitants.
Is has the old city with a big tuesday mornign market and Sottomarina.
Sottomarina is a kind of Rimini. Here only Italian tourists. No German and Dutch. In weekends the roads are full of beachseekers from Verona, Padova, Vicenca and Treviso.
We had a nice bungalow "Ibisco" , to be found on Google.

Pretty boats of Chioggia

by oriettaIT

Chioggia is a fisherman village, besides the big trawler you see in the main canal, there are lots of small boats. The people take pride in having them always fixed up and shiny and they are real eyes candy.
