Hotel Eden / Albergo Eden: in Valeggio sul Mincio

Hotel Eden / Albergo Eden is a modern hotel in the centre of Valeggio sul Mincio and it is situated in a quiet side-street.
We had a great breakfast including also prosciutto crudo and a local kind of sausage I enjoyed very much. Müsli, Cereals, peaches, plums, pineapples, yoghourts, orange- and grapefruit-juice.
Breakfast in a hotel in Italy is always a good or a bad surprise, because most italians are not used to eat breakfast like the rest of Europe. Especially in cheap hotels you will mostly get just some lousy coffee and a croissant, packed in cellophane.
The Coffee was better than at many other breakfasts I had in Italy, BUT without comparison to the excellent coffee you may get in any bar in Italy.

Our room was very comfortable with a balcony, TV, minibar, hairdryer in the well-equipped bathroom that even had an extra bidet.
The hotel has just 2 upperfloors and still they have a lift.
All doors open by the chipcard that you get upon arrival.
The special-price for VT was for the doubleroom 35 Euros per person, buffet-breakfast included.
Around the hotel they have their own large parking for 30 or even more cars.

Albergo Al Cacciatore: in Valeggio sul Mincio

Albergo Al Cacciatore in Valeggio sul Mincio was the main hotel of the big VTmeeting2005 and also the place, where all of us had the 1st dinner of the big VT-meeting.

The hotel has a small parking for about 8 cars inside the court that you can see on my picture and this court also serves as a shady garden-restaurant.
There are lots of parking-spaces just opposite of the hotel, where the largest parking of the village is situated.
The hotel has a friendly staff!

Villa Franceschi in Mira: A Brenta-Villa turned into a Luxury-Hotel

Villa Franceschi is a luxury hotel built into one of the Brenta-villas and I passed by it on my way through the Brenta-valley. This type of hotel is a bit out of reach for my travel-budget but it might be a good hotel , when you intend to explore not only Venice but also places like Padua and its surroundings and when you have a car !
Please have a look on their web-page for more infos and pics ! Dont expect to read any prices there! You are able to choose between several excellent packages and book them directely on their webpage, BUT no prices are shown there at all. ;-((

It must be a great feeling to stay a few days in such a special ambiente of an old villa and it is certainly an excellent place to stay for people who can afford it. When staying in this hotel you definitely need a car !

Accomodation in Venice / Venezia: Normally I never reserve in advance

Normally I go to Venice / Venezia out of the high season and I never reserve anything in advance,as I prefer the small hotels in the old part of the city and you often get a good deal there: There is a very good Tourist Information and hotel-Infostation at the trainstation 'Venezia Santa Lucia' (main train station)

This tourist information is just a tiny office that can take a maximum of 3 clients inside, the others have to wait outside.
The staff is very friendly, will speak many languages fluently and will NOT push you into the expensive hotels first, but will offer also cheap/moderate priced rooms, if you ask for it.
