The very same place in the fall
by croisbeauty
This is the look of Piazza Vittorio Emanuele in early November 2003. Although it was the rainy day, a number of tourist have visited this place during that weekend.
The autumn season in Lazise is convinient for those travelers who suffered of summer heat. The colours of the square are much different then in the summer time, but the pavement under the rain looks great and very attractive.
The story of the Venetian lion
by croisbeauty
It is pretty much easy to recognize which places in Italy have been under the rule of the Venetian Republic. Practicyly all the major sights of the town or its administrative buildings from that period are marked by the relief of Venetian Lion.
There are two different reliefs; one where lion holds open book and the other with closed book. If the book is opened, it was the time of peace, negotiations and prosperity; if the book is closed, it is the time of the war.
