The Main Square in the summer
by croisbeauty
Piazza Vittorio Emanuele is the Main Square of the town of Lazise. Its central position dominates the whole place and it is the key point for exploring this cute little place situated right on the Lake of Garda.
Besides, there are many restaurants, cafe-bars, shops and pastry-shops on the square and around it. In the hot summer nights the square is usually crowded with the tourists and the variaty of lamguages one ca here make the whole atmosphere very cosmopolitan.
Church of San Nicolo
by sandysmith
This 12th century church is just by the small harbour. It was built by the Origenists and dedicated to San Nicolò of Bari - the patron saint of schools and seamen. It was enlarged in the mid 16th century and later used as a store, theater, barracks, home and cinema. It is now a war memorial church.
Lazise, my favorite place on Lago di Garda
by croisbeauty
"The Port of Lazise"
Lazise is a small town on the lake shore of Garda, half way between Peschiera and the town of Garda. It is not that known as Sirmione or Desenzano but, in my opinion, equally beautiful and more.
"Porta del Lion"
Although small it has long and rich history since the period of mighty Lords of Scala Family who ruled here in the Middle Ages. Later on it has became a very important lake port in the times of the Venetian Republic.
"Piazzeta"
There are many small squares (piazzeta) in the old core of the town where one can spend wonderful time in cafe-bars or restaurants.
