Bad Service, Worse Accomodation

My Review: Lido Di Jesolo the resort has a great beach but nothing much apart from that. Two reasons to stay here would be either the beach or if you want to visit Venice. Its dead easy to make your own way to Venice from here due to the good communication links. The resort itself has shopping which we found to be very expensive and the food wasnt all that great. So I wouldnt recommend it for the food or shopping.

Now coming to our accomodation, ie. Felix Pindemonte. This is definitely not a 3*, we've stayed in 3*s before and the accomodation and service we recd here was far below a 3*. The guest area has furniture which looks like it was bought from a pawn shop and it smells like the place wasnt cleaned or aired in years, definitely a stark contrast to the nice fresh breeze of Lido. The rooms have cracks in the walls which have been filled with plaster and the toilets have rusty shower fittings. The television makes you feel like you are back in the 70s as they are black and white. Also you have to watch out for the wardrobe linings as they fall our suddenly and tend to get you on the head or between the legs!

On our second night (of 7) we used the airconditioning only to find out that it was leaking, when it brought it to the attention of the owner, a Mr. Guido, he started giving us an elaborate explanation that we'd used the airconditioning under 18degs and so it was the condensation which was coming out of the airconditioning.... as far as we know if you use an airconditioner at 10degs or 24degs it shouldnt leak and if it leaks it means it has not been installed correctly which we're sure was the case in this hotel. But Mr. Guido wouldnt have it and just kept on raving and talking over us with his explanation of things.

Cleanliness: Overall the rooms are clean and housekeeping try their best. But we did notice on one occassion that the sheets were not changed and were just straightened out for us.

Food: The breakfast is poor and inconsistent. One 2 days out of seven, we got an English breakfast which consisted of (one egg sunny side up and one half tomato!), on other days we had to make do with cold cuts and cheese.

Dinner was quite good, especially the pasta dishes but after 3 days the menu becomes repetitive. Also the menu doesnt have much for vegetarians but thankfully we werent vegetarians so that wasnt a problem.

Attitude of owners and staff: The owners are all smiles until something goes wrong and then all warmth goes out of their behaviour. The staff on the other hand are quite nice and do try their best to help out.

Location: The hotel itself is on a very busy road so you will have traffic noise all night. It is very close to the main streets tho and about a 5 min walk from the beach.
