More about Hotel Principe Palace
Excellent hotel, excellent people and great weather!!
Just came back from the Hotel Principe Palace in Jesolo, we spent 10 days there after reading reviews on here. We have to agree that the hotel is superb!!. The location of the hotel is first class, the hotel is one of the cleanest i've ever stayed in and the staff are all friendly and very very helpful (they all speak good english).
The hotel is about a 2 minute walk to the beach which has an area of the beach for the hotel you can use the sunbeds and deckchairs free of charge.
We booked our holiday ourselves (didnt use a tour operator), booked our flights with easyjet to Venice Marco Polo, booked the hotel through their website(email) and also booked the taxi with the hotel, it was all very very easy and loads cheaper!.
On arrival at the hotel you get your welcome drink, beach bag and we also recieved a free bottel of white wine with dinner. The meals are great but theres no burger and chips etc (though they will make you something else if you dont enjoy the italian food on offer).
If your thinking of having a holiday in italy i would highly reecommend this hotel and the area, its very close to venice and the whole area is very clean and tidy, the beach is getting cleaned constantly so are the streets and toilets!..
First class !!
We just spent 1 week in the Hotel Principe Palace and we wish we had booked two ! Thanks to other advisors we also booked the hotel directly and Ryan air flights to Treviso saved a fortune rather than going through an agency. As arranged we were met at the airport by our smiling taxi man and whisked to the hotel.
The hotel is spotless and staff are friendly and a pleasure to deal with. The hotel fronts on to a busy square rather than the beach, which we think is better - the beach is less than a minute walk away and its nice to sit in the hotel veranda and watch the world go by. The square is very popular since its been recently done up. The bedrooms are spotless, not the largest rooms but adequate. Our room faced out to the square, we had a balcony and a good view of everything !! The square is busy and may be a bit noisy for some people (not in the room once the doors are closed)
Dinner is from 7 - 8.30 each evening. A huge buffet of salads of all types, followed by starter and main. We had the same table for the week which was nice. The staff are very efficient and helpful.
If you fancy somewhere good for lunch we recommend you try "Pic-nic" for a pizza and "Laguna" for some tasty pasta ! A day trip to Venice is only 16 euros - you can get the no. 5 bus around the corner from the hotel (the hotel receptionist will give you all the details) and a 40 minute ferry ride.
PLEASE NOTE: the ferry port lacks signs and information ! So if you have prepurchased your ferry ticket DO NOT Join the big queue just go straight out to the ferry ! We discovered this only after queing for about 20 minutes !
The hotel has an outdoor rooftop pool and the magnificant beach is only 1 minute walk away. The hotel has reserved lidos on the beach. The pool is not heated and the sea was actually warmer !!
The entire place is very family friendly but if and when it rains there is little to do, so do pack an umbrella ! I recommend this hotel and resort as a holiday for families and couples.
Couple of years sice we satyed at this hotel but the personal attention to detail by the management/owners was excellent. One of them ate in the restaurant every night to check standards and speak to the customers. Most nights after dinner we took what was left of out wine down stairs to the bar and had a coffee /brandy. We may have gone for a walk and dropped in for a drink on our return. On the last day of our holiday we got a free drink from the management because we were 'regular' customers. The day we left one of the owners and the bar manager was there to shake everyones hands and wish us good bye.
Just returned from an 8 night stay at this hotel and was incredibly impressed and would recommend it as the number one place for people to stay if they go to lido di jesolo.
Upon check in the receptionist was very friendly, we received a welcome letter and a complimentary beach bag. The room was in immaculate condition and we had a huge balcony on the 1st floor facing the main square which was very enjoyable to sit out on.
We had breakfast in the restaurant every morning which was lovely, with plenty of choice - bacon and eggs, fruit, cereal, toast. The waiting staff were also very friendly and professional. We stayed on a b and b basis but we had dinner in the restaurant one night - they were doing a buffet of traditional cuisine - this was EXCELLENT!!!
Other hotel facilities included a swimming pool with ample sunbeds and a childrens pool. This was always clean and pleasant to sit around. The swimming pool is not heated though which meant that in june it was slightly too cold to swim in! There is also a snack bar by the pool, very friendly staff and a good choice of burgers, chicken, pasta etc for a snack lunch.
I would definitely definitely recommend this hotel for anyone staying in this resort!!
First Class Experience
Just returned from a week's stay at this wonderful hotel. From the minute we checked in we experienced the genuine hospitality of the management team and staff.
We stayed on a half board basis and found the breakfast and evening meals top class. Plenty choice from the set menu and an additional salad buffet for those with a more limited palate.
The evening meal became a highlight of the day as the staff were so friendly and keen to share their experiences of local places and some inside knowledge of places to visit away from the tourist trail.
Lovely roof-top terrace with pool which offered a quiet haven at the end of a busy day sight-seeing.
Room was spotlessly clean, well-equipped and well-maintained.
The bar/terrace at the front of the hotel was a comfortable place to enjoy a drink and watch the famous Italian passeggiata each evening.
Location excellent - near the beach, the shops and bars and the local bus system made it easy to get around to visit places like Venice and Caorle independently.
Would definitely recommend this hotel as a great relaxing experience!
Warm welcome at the Principe
My wife and I stayed at the Principe for two weeks, starting on 29 July, and I'm happy to add another positive review to those already published on this website.
The hotel is in an excellent location on Piazza Mazzini, just a few yards from the beach and only a couple of minutes walk to the nearest bus stop, and you can expect a warm and friendly welcome from all the staff, whether at reception, in the bar or in the restaurant.
Our room was clean and comfortable and had all the amenities you could require, but was at the back of the hotel and we were woken up on a couple of occasions by 5.30am rubbish collections.
For a better view, you should ask for a room facing the piazza, although other guests told us there was sometimes noise there too from people emerging from local nightclubs and bars in the early hours.
As far as the restaurant is concerned, the standard of service from head waiter Paolo and his well-drilled team was excellent. You choose your own starter from the buffet, are then served two courses you have pre-ordered the day before (although not on Wednesdays when the entire meal is effectively self service), and then pick your own dessert.
I would describe the food as very good, rather than excellent, because in our view the first courses were often more tasty and imaginative than the second.
If you're thinking of going to Lido di Jesolo, the Principe is a hotel which is certainly worthy of the four stars accorded it in most brochures and one which is geared to helping make your stay both relaxing and enjoyable.
The same, however, cannot be said of the transport available if you're thinking of going to Venice.
A combined bus and boat ticket costs 16 euros for a return (about £12) and you can expect both to be packed full during the journey, which lasts over an hour. It's a bit of a palaver and wonderful as the city undoubtedly is, you might not want to attempt it more than a couple of times.
Gourmet nights at the Principe!
We booked this hotel, having read reviews on this website. They were truthful and the hotel did not disappoint in any way. The rooms are of your usual tourist standard, but are clean and modern. The hotel bar and public areas are nicely decorated and sitting out on the terrace at night is a real pleasure, as the hotel is situated right in the centre of the town. However, any external noise was excluded by the very efficient double glazing. This is not a late night resort anyway, everything was silent by about 12.30. The food in the hotel (half-board) is a thing of joy if you, like me, are a greedy pig... It is simply delicious and meant that we did not have to spend money on eating out. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, accomodating a vegetarian teenager with individually prepared meals on occasion. Book directly with the hotel, it's cheaper and there is a slight reduction for cash or traveller's cheque payments. We are definitely going back next year, the beach is lovely and there's a great vibe in the town at night. It's a great resort for families - no young kids ripping it up, not much evidence of discos. Not terribly well placed for visiting Venice, but just about do-able. You won't want to leave the beach, though...
What a Gem!
My friend and I spent a week at this Hotel, having read good reviews on this site. What a great time we had! It exceeded our expectations, with regard to location, food, and service. The staff would do anything for you, nothing was a problem. It was obvious that the owners took real pride in their customers having a relaxing time. We can't wait to go again next year.
We've visited many times and and can confirm that the standards of previous visits have been maintained. The food is still plentiful and well prepared, the management and staff friendly and maintenance good. Even the other guests are nice! Piazza Mazzini has got a little noisier over the years, but the management can't help that and after a couple of nights you don't notice. If you don't want to be disturbed when the nightclubs kick out, ask for a quieter room at the back - but I'd prefer the front where you can people watch and the balconies are better.
My only complaint was that they didn't organise wall to wall sunshine this year! We had our first seriously wet day last Thursday in about 8 visits to LDJ!
Having read some of the reviews,my wife and I have deceided to write our own. We stayed at this hotel in May and had a wonderful holiday. From the minute you enter the magnificent reception and are met by the friendly staff you just know this hotel is something special. The bedrooms are clean and tidy and kept immaculate by the chambermaids. All of the staff are friendly and attentive and nothing appears to be too much trouble. There is a lovely pool area on the roof which has views out to the beach or the lagoon and the beach is only a five minute walk away. The manager Alex and his brother Max were often at the hotel with a smile and a chat and infact Max often ate in the restaurant on an evening testament to the quality of the food!!! The restaurant is amazing and you really feel there is attention to detail in all of the food,it is all cooked fresh and you are served at your table by your own waiter or waitress. on an evening there is a lovely terrace overlooking the square where you can have a drink and watch life go by. max was often on the terrace checking that all the guests were happy and he does infact have an english girlfriend who is delightful and was around for a chat on an evening. We would hope to come back to this hotel in the future and would have no hesitations in recommending this hotel to any of our family or friends!!!!
Lido Di Jesolo
No luck with an earlier posting - there must be someone out there who has eaten at a decent restaurant/cafe in Lido di Jesolo, we are staying in a centrally located hotel - Principe Palace. Has any one been to the aquapark? Is it a decent place for toddlers, can not find much information in English on the internet.
RE: Lido Di Jesolo
Hi MArie. Will you have a car or not.
I know a few very good restaurants in Jesolo... but Jesolo is VERY long (15 km) and, unfortunately, i cannot remember of any in walking distance from your Hotel (piazza Mazzini, right?).
Are you looking for cheap places, or for best quality?
Acquapark: i've only seen it passing by. But i won't worry too much. Jesolo, and it's thin sand beach is all a kind of acquapark.... I played there since i was 1 year old! (ok, the acquapark wasn't there...)
RE: RE: Lido Di Jesolo
Thanks for reply, no we won't have car. We are looking for good quality italian fare at a reasonable price in toddler friendly surroundings. My little girl loves pasta with my homemade tomato sauce. Hope you can help.
RE: RE: Lido Di Jesolo
No Car, so most of my tips would be useless.
Pasta al pomodoro is a quite basic requirement, though.
The only place i can think in walking distance, about one KM eastward along the main (pedestrian at night) Via bafile may be "La pergola"
Very basic service and food, but good price/quality ratio.
You find it on your right just after Piazza Brescia.
There are lots more along that road, but none that i ever tried in last 20 years..
RE: RE: Lido Di Jesolo
thanks anyway, I'll note those down.
RE: RE: Lido Di Jesolo
Hi. lido di Jesolo has everything and is very child friendly. The restaurants cater for all tastes, pizza, pasta ect. excellent shopping too. you can hire a sort of bike and your child can sit in it too and you can cycle safely in the evening from one end of town to the other, as no traffic after 8 pm.
Have a nice time there.
