Last bus from Verona to Malcesine

by cordy6

Hi

Does anyone know what time the last bus goes to Malcesine from Verona? I will be arriving at Verona Porta Nuova train station about 10pm, is this too late to catch a bus? Thank you!

It would appear to be too late...the last bus appears to leave from Verona to Malcesine daily at 18:45.

Look at Francesco's page (VT name: effeti) at http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/4c02d/228a3/9/
which describes transportation around the lake.

I followed the link to the bus that runs from Vernona to Malcesine at http://www.aptv.it/pdf/62-64.pdf and it looks like you're out of luck...

Perhaps Francesco will join us with different news...

Here i am.... Ciao Bill!

yes, bus out of Verona do not run after dnner time (8PM) or so.

There could be a chance (or many) though, if the poster arrive on one of the opera nights (end of june, up to aug 30th). On those night there are plenty of bus carrying people from the lake to the Arena, coming back after midnight. Even from the public ATV (ex APTV) company.

If so, i guess it could be possible to catch one....

Ciao

Travel Tips for Malcesine

Malcesine Don Pedro

by inlovewithmyminkey

"Don Pedro"

I stayed at the hotel Don Pedro for one week and we travelled with Jules Verne. The hotel has now changed its name to The Majestic Hotel. This hotel is a lovely spacious family and couples hotel. It is great for children as there is so much for them to do as there is: mini golf, tennis, trampolines, adventure areas, large outdoor chess, a pool for kids with a slide, a larger pool for them to play in and there are large grounds for them to run around and keep them busy. There is also alot for adults there is: a bar, a large pool table, sun loungers, a large pool outdoors and a large pool indoors for those who do not wish to swim outside and there is also a gym. A tip for the sunloungers: go down with your towel and put it on a sunlounger in prime position as everyone goes down early to grab the best sunloungers.

The rooms at the hotel are exquisite. Some rooms have large balconys and some have small ones and some may not have one but all rooms have outstanding views, spacious rooms and the decor is airy.

The food at the hotel is delicious and there is always some there. Breakfast is a buffet with a wide choice of food and drinks are available on tap such as orange juice, tea, coffee, coke and water. There is also mid morning coffee with many trays of small round biscuits which are delicious. Lunch time there is a buffet which even if its not included it is quite easy to sneak in as no one checks but i doubt you will need lunch with all the food that is available. Dinner is also buffet with a wide range of food from pasta to fish and there is also a wide range of desserts and wine and beer is on tap.

Overall this hotel is of a high standard and is only a short walk to the town or a short bus ride which is provided by the hotel. There is also a cable car just downt the road. This hotel is in a very good position.

The town is very quaint and pretty and very traditional. If u think about Italy this is what you expect to see. It is the most beautiful place I have ever been to and its still so fresh in my mind. This was my best holiday by far and I am going back in a few years with my boyfriend. There are many little alleyways leading to beautiful places or shops. The shops are good prices with much of their stock out on the street. They will approach you as they want to make a sale so sometimes u can get some good prices. There are many ice cream parlours with amazing ice creams that are very good value for money. There is so much to do in this town. Boat trips go to the other town around Lake Garda. Also you can hire a speed boat. It is just lovely though to go for a nice walk around the town perfect for couples going for romantic evening walks. Overall this town is a very relaxing place to go where you are going for a walk or paddling in the water.
