Excellent hotel
We have just returned from Malcesine and thought this was an excellent hotel. We were the only British guests there - all the others were German, but this wasn't a problem. We had one of the new comfort lake view rooms and the view over Lake Garda was stupendous. The bathroom was
nicely fitted out and we had our own private balcony.
The buffet breakfast was very good and Fabrizio (not sure if he was the owner or the manager) was very helpful.
My husband is in his mid-sixties and I am in my mid-fifties, and we didn't find the walk down to the centre of Malcesine too taxing. It took about ten minutes. Coming back was slower - about twenty minutes - especially if we were tired or it was hot. We felt that it was worth it though, as we had a much better view of the lake from further up the hill.

What a great hotel !!
Wow - after surfing the net for days to find the perfect hotel for our family holiday - we found it. I wanted to be near the town of Malcesine and restaurants, my husband wanted sweeping mountain vistas and my daughter wanted a pool. The Villa Lisa has just opened a new annex to the main hotel (17 days ago - it literally was just built but looked perfect, even down to the trees and plants that look like they have been growing for years - don't know how they did it!). Our room had had the most amazing views across the lake to Limone. It was a pleasure waking up each morning and just sitting on the balcony. The hotel is a 10 -15 minute walk down hill to the centre of the old town and a 20 - 25 minute walk back up the hill. But the tourist bus goes every hour for only 1 euro each which is perfect at night time. The owner and his staff made us so welcome and we were looked after superbly with a great breakfast to start off the day.
The website does not do the hotel justice - you have to go there!

Clean & tidy hotel - great housekeepers inside and out
Large parking area
Restaurant within a 2 minute walk if you don't want to go to the town at night.
We kind of liked the fact that there weren't many English visitors to the hotel (mostly German) but the staff speak English so don't worry. If you go to Lake Garda you get used to everyone thinking you are German anyway!
