Owned b the same gentleman as the 'Hotel Style', we were transferred here when the Hotel style was full.
The decor is slightly more polished, the breakfast slightly less chaotic.
Very much a businessman's hotel. When I say that, I am referring to travelling salesmen proffering spoons rather than high flying execs.
Could provide a useful base if you want to save a few euro on Venetian hotel prices.
Stayed at this place in October 2008. Was referred to my by my earlier guesthouse in Rome. I like this place cause it was so near the train station. Also, the apartment is adjacent to Hotel Plaza and the dorm is spacious, clean and new.
Although it can be a little noisy (trains) at night and nothing much to do around Mestre at night, getting into Venice is very convenient as train schedule is very frequent.
Additionally, the guest house provides delicious oriental (Chinese / Korean) breakfast and dinner i.e included in the room rates. The most important was it provides Free usage of PC with internet access. Free Wi-Fi.
Mr Kim, the owner, is very friendly and accomodating. However, email correspondence are usually in Mandarin or Korean. The apartment is just opposite the Mestre train station, one station away from Venice Santa Lucia station. Mr Kim or his assistance will meet you at the station and bring you to their guesthouse.
