Ostello della gioventu: Accomodation next to the tortress

The look of Rocca degli Alberi, from the inner city, is equally spectacular or even more then from the outside. It is where the hostel of Montagnana is situated, left of the gateway.

Since it was a day trip, I didn't sleep at Montagnana and cannot tell you nothing regarding the quality of the accomodation. It is, however, good to know where the hostel is situated.
There are 70 beds in the hostel, which is open from the first of April up to the fiftheenth of the October.

Aldo Moro Hote: Style, Elegance, and Comfort in One Hotel

The location of the Aldo Moro Hotel is good..it's located about one street over from the main piazza, which makes for a quiet stay.

The rooms are beautiful with wood-beamed high ceilings and large windows. Our room was Number 124. It was small but very nice.

There are wooden floors and great, heavy wooden doors, a beautiful desk, wooden headboard, one large window with European shutters outside and sheers with a green valance which matches the bedspread inside. There are two end tables, a chair with rust/brown/tan velvet color scheme.

Large picture of girl in Poppy Field is rather modern looking. There is a closet in the hall, and when one walks into the hallway, the light automatically goes on. The bath is done in Blue Marble and has a shower stall and a bident and a toilet. Very nice, indeed.

The public rooms are pretty extravagant with antique furnishings that lend a lovely, old-world, sedate elegance. There is a small garden behind the hotel where guests are welcome to wander or to sit and relax.

The Aldo Moro is a family-run hotel, and someone from the family is always present. The location is more famous for the fabulous restaurant than for the hotel. The breakfast was excellent.

Because the hotel is so stylish and elegant, it seems somewhat 'cold" at first. The first person behind the desk that we met seemed "stand offish", but after awhile,. he warmed up.

Closed mid July to mid August.

This hotel is "candy" for the eye. It is beautifully furnished and quite lavish.

The hotel's restaurant is outstanding and quite famous. Parking is available in front of the hotel.

Youth Hostel (Ostello della gioventù): A youth hostel in a real castle?

A cheap youth hostel in a real mediaval castle.... see the picture!

The hostel site inside the Castle is open april to september. The hostel has another site, opening all year around, a few meters outside the city walls. I guess the problem is the heating..

Price s 18 euro in spring 2008. Hard to tell in USD with those crazy change rates....

I don't think you may find a lot of hostels inside an original XIII centuty castle..
