A Jewel hidden in backstreets of the Centro
Ma Kettle and I haven't stayed here before, and the only reason I have included it was because it struck us as a wonderful place to spend a couple of nights. We located it just before Christmas, and went snooping. Beautiful lobby, and great little booklets with maps of Padova and Venice attached were provided when we asked for rates.
The location is perfect. Situated right in the heart of the city center, yet off on a cobblestoned side street, amidst the old buildings, away from the hustle and bustle of the market. Very neat, clean, elegant. We'd never walked this little street before, and found restaurants, bakeries, chocolate shops, so much we had never known existed. The hotel also has a restaurant attached.
Unique Quality: As mentioned, the location is ideal. Less than two minutes walk, and you are right in the heart of Padova's centre. Dozens and dozens of restaurants immediately available to you, the bus stop less than five minutes away, and all the sights of Padova awaiting your pleasure.
A double room, with breakfast included, starting at 153 euro.
The hotel has 34 rooms, furnished in various styles, lots of mahoganies and brass, and of course the usual you'd come to expect in this price range. garage parking is also available, but of course comes at an additional price.

The Four stars hotel
Established in 1946 in the old Ghetto of Padova, first as a restaurant and than hotel. It is situated in the heart of the city, just a foot from Piazza delle Erbe and all major attractions of the city.
Unique Quality: The "Ghetto" is an old residental downtown area inhabitated mainly by the Jewish population until the 1970's. You wont find cheap accomodations inside the city area of Padova, at least I couldn't find any. Ten or twenty euros make no difference between two and three stars hotels, I'll rather pay something more to be more comfortable. Anyhow, Majestic Toscanelli is higly recommending accomodation because of its position, service and price.
