Questions about my trip to Peschiera and Maranello

by luv2travelwithkids

Hello Everyone. I am travelling to Pesciera del Garda by train from Milan on the 10th of August. I plan on being there for 5 days. I will be staying with my hubby and kids at Hotel Bell'arrivo. My questions are as follows:

1)Would we need to rent a car if we have to travel to all the amusement parks or are taxis /buses etc easily available. Note that as one son is around 3 1/2 i will be carrying around a baby stroller.
2)What will the weather be like during that time of year should i pack warm clothes for the kids or does a sweater/jacket sound good enough with jeans OR should i pack just t-shirts and shorts?
3)Are there any buses which go directly to Maranello from peschiera or do i need to take the train to modena and then a taxi to maranello hotel Domus Best western?
3)Is there a McDonalds/BKing in Peschiera del Garda for kids or just normal restaurants?
4)Can anyone recommend a tour agent who can take us on a short day tour on th elake and /or the chairlift.

Many thanks for all your help in answering my queries.

1 - Taxis and busses run regularly around Lake Garda as it is peak season

2- It quite likely will be warm, but it might rain every now and then (this summer is a little strange), so a jacket/sweater as well as a light rain jacket would be useful. Shorts and T-shirts yes, maybe one pair of trousers, just in case.

3- No, there a no busses directly to Maranello. You have to take a train in Verona to Modena and then a bus or taxi (better a taxi as the busses might not go to the Best Western which is a little outside Maranello, if I remember correctly).

4- There are conflicting information about a MD in Peschiera. There most certainly is one in Desenzano. BTW, each and any restaurant will cater food for your kids, small portions of whatever they eat, so you should be ok.

5 - No recommendation, but you will find plenty of offerings, can ask the tourist information and you hotel reception.

Hope this helps.

Hi there

1)The theme parks of Gardaland, Aqua Paradise and Movieland are on the main bus route. There's a free bus from Peschiera train station to Gardaland theme park. Beware though that traffic can be horrendous at weekends.

2) The weather should be hot but there can be heavy thunderstorms, plus if you want to go up Monte Baldo it could be a little cold depending on the mountain breezes.

3)There's a McDonalds about a mile and a half outside Peschiera. Off the beaten track surprisingly, although Verona bus passes about 400 yards away. You walk along a busy road and I don't think there's a pavement if memory serves me right. So probably better getting taxi to save time and safer for kids. (expensive though)

Have a great time, it's a brilliant place to holiday.

Travel Tips for Peschiera del Garda

Dinghys, powerboats, and sailing craft.

by mapakettle

It appears that boating in smaller water craft is an important addition to life in Peschiera.

The town has two inland harbours for safe keeping of these very expensive water toys. Sailing is extremely popular, as is power boating. We saw many trailer laden cruisers crawling along the lakeshore looking for a suitable launch site. Lake Garda is large enough to accomodate the largest craft, and there is sufficient wind to satisfy even the most agressive sailor.
