Train from Treviso to Conegliano

by GeorgetaB

Hi. Checking the trenitalia website that was listed in the previous post, it seems that there is only 1 train from Treviso to Conegliano on the day that I am searching. It is a Sunday, and I checked the Sunday before and the Sunday afterwards and they both have multiple trains listed, but the day I am searching only has one! Any ideas why this is?

I am ultimately trying to reach Cison di Valmarino and have been told to take the train to Conegliano and then the bus. By the way, any ideas about how to get the bus schedule from Conegliano to Cison di Valmarino? Thank you!

What date are you looking at? Is it more than 2 months in the future?

Ah, I bet you're looking at June 13th, right? It looks like the regional train schedule hasn't been loaded yet past June 12th...this is not unusual as the rail database generally has major updates twice a year...

First, check this coming Sunday; the schedule is likely going to be quite similar. Second, check it again in a week or two (or three)...but, really, the schedules don't normally vary all that much over the year...

Thank you, mccalpin. You guessed it. I was thinking that's what it might be, so I won't be too worried and will check back in a couple of weeks. Thanks!

Travel Tips for Treviso

A quiet small town

by Andrew_Liu

The company we contacted with is in Treviso located in north of Venice. It is said that Treviso was built for protecting Venice from northern foreigner hundreds years ago. We still saw a section of wall now.
Currently Treviso is a quiet small town. We visited a famous church here. We saw a beautiful building, like picture shows, which is one of oldest building in Treviso, they said.

Mura scaligere (city walls)

by Diana75

Many remains of the old scaligere defending walls can be seen around Treviso's old town.

The total length of the walls was of 4km.

Outside, the walls are surrounded by the channels formed by the rivers Sile and Cagnan.

Once the access to the center of the town was allowed only through the three city gates: Porta San Tomaso on the north, Porta Santi Quaranta on the west and Porta Altinia on the south.

Piazza Del Duomo

by STEFZAMM

I was not impressed with this piazza as it looked more of a wide road with ample space for parking to me rather than a piazza or Piazza del Duomo. You will only visit this piazza to visit the duomo - (cathedral) or the baptistry which is close by the cathedral so it can also be seen from this piazza.

Chiesa SAn Francesco

by BruceDunning

The brick facade is rather mundane, in my opinion. It was built in the 13th century by Franciscan monks over 1231-1270 years. The frescoes inside are the site to take in, some done by Tommaso da Modena of Madonna completed in 1351. The roof is shaped like a boat keel and is very high. The church was closed after some ruin by Napoleon era, and re -opened in 1928.

Torre Civica

by Diana75

Symbol of Treviso, together with Palazzo della Prefettura and Palazzo dei Trecento, Torre Civica changed its aspect during the centuries.

The bell, located on the top of the tower, is announcing twice a day, at 9am and 5pm, the beginning and the end of the working program and, at 12pm, together with other bells in town, is announcing the noon.

The bell is also ringing in occasion of the City Council's meetings, according to an old custom, at midnight on December 31st in order to announce the new year and at 1pm on April 7 in order to remember the tragically bombing of 1944.
