Hotel and Burano??
Me and my husband are going to Venice in October and want to stay in a small romantic hotel and pay maximum 150 euro per night. Any recommendations? We also like to go to the island of Burano. Are there regular ferries or do we need to charter a boat?

Burano and the other islands of the lagoon are served by frequent vaporetti. You shouldn't miss Torcello.
Sorry I can't advise about hotels as I haven't been to Venice in some time.

I just returned from Venice three weeks ago and stayed in hotel SantElena that was recommended by VTers. It was absolutely great, a bit secluded from the frantic pace of Venice near a park. I booked ahead of time for three nights and ended paying 120 euros a night. You can't be that for a 4-star hotel I don't know if you can get the same deal but go ahead and try their site: http://www.hotelsantelena.com/

yes you can visit burano by using the ferry which goes on all day and night. A good hotel in which I stayed is Hotel Sole which is very central for about 100 euros per night. Enjoy Venice is a beautiful city both during the day as well as at night

Definately go to Burano! It's just gorgeous with all the different coloured houses. It only takes about half hour from the main stop near St Marks. Make sure you take your camera...so many bright colours!

ps We stayed at Alloggi Santa Sofia...this was our best and cheapest accomodation by far for the whole trip!It isn't manned tho, the people who run it also run the resturant down round the corner where you go for brekkie.....our hotel room had the BEST shower in the world!!!
