Marco Paolo Airport to Lido De Jeselo

by Emypickle

Where does the Avto bus stop in Lido De Jesolo as we need to get to the Piazza Aurora?

You will find the bus timetables in English here:

The bus terminates at the 'Autostazione', which I believe is on Piazzale Picchi.

To piazza Aurora you can then take the n. 5 bus (direction Punta Sabbioni)

Travel Tips for Venice

Piazza San Marco, Day or Night, the Place to Be

by deecat

As I stood in the middle of Piazza San Marco, I tried to imagine the millions of people who had stood in this very spot and felt the awe of such beauty. This piazza has witnessed so much...Carnival festivities, political strikes, elaborate pageants, religious processions, and ordinary citizens standing right here!

I just seemed to block out any mass of people or any swarm of pigeons; instead, I focused on the beautiful orchestras that were playing, the beautiful architecture of the Basilica San Marco, Doge's Palace, Campanile, and the Columns of San Marco and San Teodoro. In that one moment, the grandeur that was Venice was alive! My fondest memory of Venice took place here in Piazza San Marco when my husband of 40 years asked me to dance to the orchestra was magic.

View of historic city of Venice

Go up the bell tower of St. Marks Square and have a breath-taking view of the old Venice.

It is a maze of red color rooftops with more rooftops over the islands in the lagoon.

This bird's eye aerial view is one of a must for all photographer. The other is to walk the narrow streets. The third is by boat.

Venice Tip

Getting up really early, and wandering through the city before the crowds get going. You will see all the boats going up and down the canals, delivering goods and workers. It's fabulous! I drew lots of little pictures with my coloured pencils and pen, just because I liked to sit and really absorb it all.

Carnival should be the merriest holiday of the year and in fact to Venezia everyone is enjoyed everybody less he " THE LECTURER " every day of the year you find him seated in this field on that park bench he that talks to the pigeons,he who talks to some tourist who asks information to know where the party is developed and he always very kindley answers everybody he be useful to go in "pensione" too much and too old to find i work meantime the carnival goes mad also 1000 euro spent for custom to hire this and Venezia it is possible to be only in means to a sea of people but not and fault of no one maybe also THE LECTURER today he and masked from mister no who knows it is carnival in town lectuer .

Money belt is a necessary security item.

After Air France lost our luggage, we were very pleased that we had a carry-on with a change of clothes, toiletries, and medications with us Good Walking shoes. Don't worry about the looks, be comfortable. Anything goes but the people wearing heels or "flip-flops" need to get with the program. I carried deet mosquito repellent and never used it. We never saw a mosquito. A good digital camera is a must with as much memory as possible. A card that holds a thousand photos works well, and it is not my goal to tour with my vision thru a camera lens. There are just so many photo opportunities. The Beach at Lido and traveling the islands provides good opportunities for beach wear. I like carrying a backpack for water, photo equiptment, umbrella, etc., but make it small otherwise you have to store yours before entering St. Marks. This is also true a other churches, museums in Italy. (some but not all).
