VENICE'S TRINITY
This is not a church's name, but for me the 3 essential hotels to see in Venice. I haven't slept in any of them (maybe some day, if I win a lottery!) but a visit is indispensable.
Danieli. Riva degli Schiavoni, 4196. At the right side of San Marco, if you look from the Canal. Admire the magnificent lobby, the stairs and enjoy a capuccino in the hall at your left as you enter.
Gritti Palace.Campo Santa Maria del Giglio 2467.At the other side od San Marco, by the Canal. My favourite place in this XV century palace is the terrace facing the Grand Canal. A Dry Martini with some olives here is like heaven...
Bauer Grunwald.Campo San Moise, 1459. Another great building, this one from XII century, with another gorgeous terrace facing the Canal. I saw Woody Allen there when I was.
Three Bridges Alone Arch the Grand Canal
by mrclay2000
Venice has only three bridges that arch the Grand Canal: the station bridge near the rail station, the famous Rialto midway along the canal, and the last-added Accademia Bridge, so named for the nearby art academy. The last bridge seems almost a replica of Rialto except that instead of stone it is composed of wood, which makes it seem a little more old-fashioned than the former. The views looking east from the Accademia Bridge encompass Santa Maria della Salute and the mouth of the lagoon.

see the magnificent canals. The longest (3.8 km) and widest (up to 70 m) is Canal Grande (Grand Canal) which divides the city into two parts, interconnected by three famous bridges : Ponte degli Scalzi, Ponte di Rialto and Ponte dell'Accademia.

Pack As Light as You Possibly Can
by SFHulaGIrl
It's best to pack light when traveling to Venice, as it's certainly no fun to lug a 25-lb. suitcase over the numerous bridges that you'll have to cross to get to your hotel! Porters are (sometimes) available, but I've been told that they charge 20E per bag and are not available until after 8:00 a.m. If you need to arrive/leave prior to that, you're on your own! Based on my past experience, I vow to always make Venice my FIRST stop when traveling to various cities/towns throughout Italy.
