Very good rooms in Venice

Highly recommended. This is not a hostel but a highly appointed room (one of 3) that was restored to the highest standards in 09/2005. It's in one of the most convenient places 100 yards from the Grand Canal. There is a little caf?'/bar 5 yards away. I will try to stay there if I go again. Don't believe the ?6 a cup of coffee stories. I paid 50p for coffee and wine and ?4 for pasta/pizza and ?1 for sandwiches all over Venice. (When looking for this place look for the first little pizza place on the Grand Canal at #555. they have no sign saying Mirabar or Ca Leon and you will not find #608 it is hidden. You need to actually go into the Restaurant and the chef speaks no English but is friendly and helpful. The Manageress will meet you at the room later or the next day. They have 3 further rooms to renovate.

Best Bed and Breakfast near the Rialto

I was expecting a great stay due to all the communication between the B&B before my trip. They gave me great directions fom the train station to the door.

The B&B is about 100 m from the Rialto bridge on campo San Bartolomeo.

The room was spectacular! It was on the top floor and the single had a queen size bed, bath and a patio with deck chairs. A great place for honeymooners to stay perhaps.

The staff was welcoming and helpful but only stay til 9pm. Do not worry, guests are given a key so they can enter after the staff leave.

Breakfast was pretty good. Coffee, yogurts, fruit, bread

Unique Quality: From my patio I was able to see the Doge bell tower and the top of St. Mark's Basilica. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Word to the wise, there are no elevators so you have to carry your suitcase up the steps.
