More about Ca' San Giorgio

Cute hotel...

by TripAdvisor Member cokeandwet

Stayed in mid- April and were very happy with Ca' San Giorgio. Large clean rooms, friendly service, and great location (just far enough off the tourist stomp to San Marco). Would stay here again-highly reccomended.

A dream place to stay!

by TripAdvisor Member seanbee

All you’ve read here about Ca San Giorgio here is true ! It really is a great place to stay in Venice, very central and yet the area seems a million miles away from the masses of tourists. We loved our room at the top ( not the suite) which, despite having no “view” was big, very quiet and very romantic. Chiara and Silvia (who are fast becoming stars on this site!) couldn’t have been nicer and they made us feel relaxed and welcome. The breakfast was great; cheese, ham, croissants and fresh fruit. We’ll be back!!

Great overall Value

My wife and I were in Venice from the 22nd of April 2007 to the 25th of April.

I will not repeat all the wonderful things that people have already said about this hotel, as they are all true. However, three things stand out for me the most and do deserved to be mentioned:

1. The service was exemplary (I would encourage every guest to follow the dining advice of the staff at the hotel).

2. The location is phenomenal if you want to avoid the sometimes Disney like tourist feel of the more travelled parts of Venice (all of which are still within a 10 minute walk).

3. The value: given the relatively low cost to other hotels and B&Bs in Venice comined with the exellent service, accomodation and location the Ca San Giorgio is a great place to rest your head.

Wonderful!!

My husband and I stayed here from October 7-9, 2006. It was our first trip to Europe and Venice was our first stop in Italy. We could not be more pleased with our stay. The place is beautiful once your enter the double-doors from the street. It was just 2 vaparetto stops from the bus terminal coming from Treviso. We didn't know how far it was to walk considering we were arriving after dark that night, so we took the No. 1 vaparetto and got off after only 2 stops. After that we just followed the yellow signs to the Museum Civico, which is right across from Ca San Giorgio. Our room was very nice (and I'm usually very picky about hotel rooms)...it was actually one that was printed on the cover of their brochure. It was a large sized room (huge compared to our last room in Paris) and everything was very clean, especially the bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed on the 2nd floor, across the way from the breakfast room. Breakfast was free and there was a good variety of food available. There were pastries, fruit, juice, ham, cheese and bread to choose from. The townhouse is only a few vaparetto stops from Ponte Rialto, but not a very long walk either. Venice was very crowded, but staying here was great because it was away from the busy crowd and it was nice to come back to a peaceful, comfortable room. They also had a laptop you could borrow for as long as you needed it or until someone else requested it. We would definitely, definitely recommend this place for anyone going to Venice and would absolutely stay here again should we ever get the chance to come back to Venice!! It was the best hotel of our entire European trip, and that's out of 4 hotels.

Fantastic little find

This is a great hotel, with excellent attention to detail everwhere. Silvia couldnt have been more friendly or helpful. I would highly recommend it to anyone going to Venice. Location is perfect.

The BEST

by TripAdvisor Member JimSakes

Great rooms only surpassed by the excellent staff. They directed us to the best restaurants, not the best tourist restaurants, and they were wonderful. Silvia was there to make sure we caught our 4:30am water taxi and had a breakfast ready for our early departure. The only place to stay in Venice. A little bit of a walk but no big deal.

Loved it

Honeymoon trip. We stayed in the junior suite which was a perfectly clean, large, lovely room with a beautiful bathroom. Pleasant women at the front desk who were helpful with directions and reservations. Location was away from the hustle and bustle, yet close to vaporetto stop. VERY difficult to find at night if coming from the San Marco direction (tip: invest in a GOOD map, not the one you get for free at the hotel). Stairs up to the room with heavy suitcases was a drawback. Overall, we really loved it.

Excellent

Just got back from 3 night stay over New Year. Family of 4. Suite. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Great location. Could do with satelitte tv which I'm sure they will get when its set up for them. Cost us about £570 which seems fair for this rather expensive city. Would definitely recommend 100%

Great place to stay.....

My daughter and I stayed at this property in April. It was a beautiful time to visit Venice.
After a long day of travel we arrived at the hotel. Our bags were carried to our suite, very helpful after having to drag them thru the small allyways and over the canals of Venice from the train station.
We had a lovely room at the top of the stairs across from the breakfast room. A junior suite, very nicely decorated. The bath was large and clean with a tub!!!!! Wonderful to soak after a long day of walking around the city.
We wanted a room with a balconey which is what we had...however, the balconey over looked cement walls and a small back courtyard of the apartment next door. The window to the room next to us opened on to this balconey as well. Would have been awkward had someone been in the room. The balconey could do with a little more privacey, maybe Wiseria growing or some kind of vine to supply a little privacy.
The breakfast was great. The granola the best with fresh yougurt and fruit, bread and jams. Coffee and juice.
The front desk staff speaks English beautifully and are very helpful in answering any questions.
It was a little hard to find at first as I'm sure any property would be in this city. After we found our way around we didn't have a problem with direction.
We would recommend this hotel highly.

Perfect, perfect perfect!

We stayed from April 14-17. The weather was amazing, which made our private rooftop deck all the better. Silvia and her staff were very helpful and the room was amazing. The location is perfect. Off the beaten-path but only a 10 minute walk from the bridge and all the busy parts of town. Breakfast every morning was very nice. They provide free internet access as well as a laptop if you didn't bring yours. We loved our stay and recommend it highly. We got engaged on our trip to Venice, so we will definately be back again!
