The choice for budget conscious in Venice
Alba D'oro is a very organised hostel/camping ground. They have basically got all the key essentials covered.
You have a variety of options, camping, room with/out shower etc. price was very reasonable.
They also have a swimming pool, pin pong table and futsal court, a restaurant, pub and a grocer.
The only drawback is the distance from the island. It's a 30 min bus ride to P.Roma (where u need to take the waterbus to the Wonderul Venice). The good thing is that the bus stop is right in front of the camp. The buses will stop at the airport and u have to transit to another bus (no 5) which takes u to the island.
Last bus from the island is 10.30pm so u need to make sure u leave venice by then to get back to the camp.
Unique Quality: - Very clean cabins.
- efficient staff
- good facilities - pool, internet, restaurant,pub
- Very competitively priced.

Cheap campsite
I stayed here on night on my way to Austria as it is easy to get to the train station Mestre from here.
I had stayed one night in Camping Fusina in the beginning of my trip and expected the accommodation to be similar as the prices were the same. But instead of a cabin like the one we stayed in at camping Fusina, I got a tent. The tent was very little, around 2*2 meters. Inside there was two twin beds, and another girls was already staying here. She was very annoyed when I showed up, as she wasn't aware that she had to share the tent. I could understand here as the tent was very little.
Unique Quality: The tent had no real door, and the padlock wasn't really enough to secure the tent. I didn't care too much as I only had to sleep here one night. There were no sheets or blankets and the mosquitoes could easily enter the tent, so I got a lot of bites.
I can't recommend staying in the tents, but they did have cabins and they may be better, but also more expensive. I paid 13 euro and I think that is cheap in Venice.

Marco Polo Views
We stayed at this campsite for a week, We had our own Folding caravan, but they had static caravans, and also strange pod type huts which were dorms for 2 or 4 people.
Lots of people stayed here, many just for 2 or 3 nights & then moved on. Its a very busy and well run campsite.
Its right next to the waterside so you have views over the Jesolo to Venice.
It is possible to get to venice by boat from the campsite, but the cheapest was is to take the 5 minute bus ride to the airport and then get the connecting bus to Venice its self. which is about another 20 minute bus ride.
As you can see from the photo it was so cold when we were there the canal next to us was frozen!
Unique Quality: Albs d'Oro is only 5 minutes away from the Marco Polo airport, so its ideal if you dont have your own transport. The only downside (a plus if your a plane spotter!) is the planes being so close, the airport actually boarders the campsite. We didnt really notice the noise though as we were out all day every day & the flights in the evenings were greatly reduced.
They have a bar, restaurant, swimming pool, internet access, launderette etc

Camping Alba D'Oro
Unique Quality: Variety of accommodation (at different prices), metal prefab huts, large fixed caravans with toilets, weird-looking plastic huts, or your own tents/caravans. Good site bar/restaurant over-looking pool, for beer and pizza/pasta, shop for general supplies, garden (see photo)

I´m looking for a cheap hostel to stay in Venice, can anyone help me??
Thanks a lot,
Susana
Re: Cheap accommodation in Venice
Hello, if you dont mind camping grounds, a great one is Alba Doro Camping out by the airport. It has cabins with their own bathrooms for about 18euros per person. It has a pool and restaurant and even a shuttle bus to take you straight into venice, then you can catch the shuttle bus back. Have fun,
