Considering the Capitol Palace in Venice?

Visit St Mark's, as early as you possibly can in the morning. The way to do this is to be a devout Catholic, and go to the mass held at 8 am. You can stand quietly and respectfully, and just look. look at the ceiling, the mosaics. Breathe in the incense and damp stone smell. Look at the lecturn, the same wooden structure where the Doge Dandolo launched the 4th Crusade. Look at the Nicopeia Madonna. Light a candle.Arriving at Torcello, in March. Early morning, no one around, just water and marsh and birds. Walking along the cobbled path beside the reedy little canal, to the cathedral. Inside, the stark madonna staring gravely down at you, set on gold mosaic.
