We were very happy to have Francesco meet us and take us to the apartment to settle us in. The apartment was huge, set right at the confluence of two canals, very well equipped and really gave us all the room to move that we needed. The proximity to the boats and gondolas was a delight and really kept the children entertained for long periods every day. The location was superb. We thought we would never find our way around at first but once we had ventured out and gotten our bearings it became quite simple. The wonderful square (Campo S. Giacomo de Lorio was so close and made food shopping and morning croissant and baguette buying very simple. We also tried a couple of the cafes there and were very happy. The church of course, is lovely and the community atmosphere in this residential neighbourhood was fascinating to be part of. Our kids were able to play in the square with the local children and had a great time.
Unique Quality: Unfortunately there was a rather severe mosquito problem in the apartment but this was probably just a seasonal thing and we were most impressed that the electric insect repellers were on hand to help with this situation.
