our stay at the Duodo Palace
by TripAdvisor Member mbjoh
Just a note to say how much we enjoyed the Duodo Palace. This was our 2nd visit to Venice, and while were are tourist, we wanted to stay away from the tourist crowds but remain in San Marco. The location of the Duodo is perfect. The desk staff was helpful, courteous and sincere; room service was always on time and delicious; housekeeping was through and the room spotless. Opening the windows to our 3rd floor balcony, over the Rio della Verona, brought the beautiful music and song from the gondolas. Our stay was wonderful. Thank you.
ist Wedding Anniversary celebration

We stayed at the lovely Duodo Palace Hotel for our daughter and son-in law's 1st wedding anniversary in September 2004. They got married in Venice the year before and we wanted somewhere suitable for a wonderful 1st Anniversary stay in Venice. We stayed at the Firenze Hotel previously but this was full at the time of booking.
After doing a lot of browsing on the internet we finally decided on staying at The Duodo Palace Hotel, which was wonderful and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. They even upgraded my daughter and son-in-laws room to a room overlooking the canal at no extra cost. We had a lovely time on our third return to Venezia and look forward to coming back soon!

My husband and I have just returned from a four day break in Venice at the Duodo Palace. It was fantastic . The room was beautiful and we got an upgrade overlooking the canal. We could hear the gondoliers singing as they went by. The concierge was helpful and the service throughout was very good. The hotel is in a perfect location down a little street by the Fenice Opera House and five minutes from St Marks Square. We would certainly return!
Very good four star hotel

This hotel is centrally located in a quiet area just 5 minutes stroll to St Marks Square and The Rialto Bridge. The room we had was spacious and overlooked a small canal where you can arrive at the door by water taxi from the bus/coach station which saves walking with your luggage in an attempt to find the hotel which, to be fair, isn't easy but possible with a good street map. The staff were helpful, friendly and polite and all spoke good English. The decor throughout was very venetian and all rooms were clean and air conditioned. The inclusive continental breakfast was adequate. My wife and I would definitely use this hotel again.
Honest and great service at the Palace!

Good central but quiet location in San Marco district. Pleasant room with old Venezian ceiling painting and larger than average en suite. Very helpful, friendly and honest staff - I had left £135.00 English pounds in cash in our room and they mailed it back to me in the UK by secure delivery service. Would highly recommend.
Perfect!

Our group recently stayed at the Duodo and I can not rave enough about it! My now husband and I got married in Venice and we, along with our guests, stayed at the Duodo. Sebastiano (at the front desk) really went above and beyond for our group.
The rooms were beautiful and the location was perfect - very close to St. Marc's Square but still an intimate secluded area. We didn't even bother with the water buses the whole time we were there. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but Sebastiano had several great recommendations (Galileo-one of our best meals in Italy).
