Hotel Florida
Hotel Florida is a small and cosy hotel in Venice in a very good location (in a lane just next to the railway station). The cost is affordable in terms of the high cost of accomodation in Venice.
Rooms are clean but small, which is to be expected in Venice. Staff are friendly and this hotel is very popular (so you need to book early). The free breakfast is ordinary and lack variety.
Overall, a good accomodation in Venice if you are on a budget and looking for a good location. It is really convenient, especially if you are arriving and leaving Venice by train because it is probably less than 100 metres from the railway station and the main waterways of Venice.

Venices Little/Cutest Hotel!
Service & facilities were great... we only stayed one night there as we were passing through but the location is perfect (especially if you are arriving by train)! - Breakfast is also included in the price!!! :)
Unique Quality: great location.. in the heart of everything and reasonably priced too!

Hotel Florida... Its an itsy bitsie place
Locationwise, its great. Beside Venice Termini, a short stroll down and making a left past the church. Rooms were a bit on the tinyside (so what else is new in Venice) since we were on a budget (though I would have prefered staying at Padua or Sta MOnica nearby)
Anyway, staff made up for the tiny room (I forgot the lady's name but I usually call any woman of italian descent--Valeria ... i just sounds so italian!) The lady from the front desk was so helpful and quite good in english!
A few croissants, cheese and cereals for me please (hey, for the same price as the Four Seasons Bangkok...)
Its quite close to the quieter part of San Polo and a nice run to San Marco and the other parts of this beautiful yet very very expensive city.
I can over look it... Venice is so damn beautiful!

Hotel Florida
Rule number 1 - all Italian hotel rooms are small.
Rule number 2 - all rooms have small showers.
Once you have this in mind you won't be expecting lavish accommodation which, unless you pay a small fortune, you won't get. Hotel Florida are in line with both rules 1 & 2!! The location is easy and food around the area is good. Being close to the train station makes it a breeze to make your connections when you are set to leave.
As long as you go to Italy knowing these things you will be more than happy with the hotel.
Unique Quality: The room we had was small and clean and the facilities okay. The bed was comfortable enough and the Church bells didn't upset us too much...... The breakfast was very typical throughout italy; rolls, jam, coffee & juice.
The water taxi's are close by and this really makes it easy to get back to the hotel without walking home & getting lost (which, let's face it, is one of the reasons you are here!!).
It appears to be cheaper to book online before you go but I never tested this at the Venice end.

An Inexpensive Hotel Near The Grand Canal
I have not stayed at this hotel. But one of my best friends did and she highly recommended this place because of its convenient locality and its inexpensive room rate.
Unique Quality: Hotel Florida is situated in the historical center of Venice... and a few steps from the railway station.
The hotel is also located near the Grand Canal and the main boat-lines which means - you'll have easy access to other parts of Venice.
The hotel also have web touch phone made available for your usage - for internet surfing. Please check with the hotel Reception Desk upon check-in.
Depending on the season, a double-room at this hotel (which comes with breakfast) can cost as little as EUR 100.00 per night!
