Perfect!

Having recently returned from a 3 night stay at Venice's Hotel Galleria, my partner and I were extremely satisfied with our accomodations. The hotel is right off the Accademia bridge and centrally located in this magical city. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful in all aspects of our vacation. Our room (#8) was quaint, spotlessly clean, and had a wonderful view of the Grand Canal. Breakfast is served in your room daily (just inform them of what time you'd like it to arrive), and was delicious. Also, there is a bar nearby that sells delicious wines and cheeses...a welcome snack while enjoying the view from your room! I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again on our next venture to Venice!
Tremendous location

This is a great bargain for staying right on the Grand Canal. Our room (mother & daughter) was on the small side, but who cares? The bed was comfortable and the room was charming and clean. Right outside our window was the Accademia Bridge and a view of the Grand Canal. It was a bit of a trip down the hall to the bathroom, but it wasn't bad. The breakfast was good by Italian standards (several pastries, nutella, butter, jam, tea, coffee and warm milk), brought right to our room at the time we requested on a silver tray. There was always someone available at the front desk, and they were all very friendly and helpful. We peeked in one of the largest rooms down the hall (#10), and it was beautiful with wood floors, a chandelier and a window right on the Grand Canal. The hotel was very close to St. Mark's, and the Accademia and Guggenheim collections were just around the corner. For the price we paid, I would recommend it very highly.
Great Place!

We loved the Hotel Galleria! We had a small room, but the view of the Grand Canal was fantastic. We pulled the chairs around by the window and watched the boats go by. Although small, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was top-notch (and actually not that small). Breakfast was great, and the staff kindly accomodated us when we had to catch a train by bringing breakfast in particularly early. Highly recommended, especially for the reasonable price.
Great Value

A wonderful value, especially since it is directly on the Grand Canal at the Accademia Bridge. Not luxurious, but you could pay a lot more, and for a worse location. If you are in Venice for the art and the ambiance, this is your place. Accademia is just outside the door of the hotel. La Fenice is very nearby. If you are schlepping luggage, you will appreciate the Vaporetto stop only 40 or so yards from the hotel.
Perfetto!

We stayed at the Hotel Galleria for four nights in September 2005 and couldn't have been more pleased with our choice of hotels. We stayed in Room #10 which was huge (especially for just two of us - could easily and comfortably accommodate three), with two windows opening directly onto the Grand Canal. An absolute steal at 155 euros per night! We loved having our breakfast tray delivered each morning and sitting at our little table eating while watching the morning traffic go by on the canal. The location is superb, right at the foot of the Accademia bridge, so it's just a 10 minute walk to San Marco or Rialto, but the Dorsoduro neighborhood is not as hectic or noisy as San Marco, which is very nice at night. Lots of lovely restaurants and shops nearby, and the desk staff is very helpful making reservations, giving directions or whatever you might need. Oh, and it was nice to finally have a decent-sized shower that one can actually turn around in. All in all, a terrific place to stay in Venice.
Galleria a treat in mid-price range

We stayed 4 nights at the Galleria in mid-Oct. 3 nights in room 8, which was beautiful and plenty big enough. The breakfast table looks over the Grand Canal, and the colour scheme is dark red. Room 9 is much smaller and dark green, but was fine for 1 night. The location is great - right beside the Accademia, very easy to get to, but quiet. Easy walk to San Marco, and a Vaporetto stop right outside the door. Everything was very clean, and the staff was helpful when the rather old-fashioned door locks proved a challenge. Breakfast was good, with choice of beverages and nice breads. I was completely satisfied, and would gladly stay in room 8 again.
