    Imagine a hotel room with 20 foot ceilings, walls covered in rich cloth, beautiful linens on the bed, a bathroom to suit all your needs, and a view of the grand canal. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was absolutely marvelous. We could choose to have breakfast brought to our room each morning, or we could open our door and walk the 5 steps to the terrace and have our breakfast brought to us there while we watched the morning traffic on the grand canal. Magnificent!

    On the grand canal, large and beautiful rooms, TV (not that we turned it on), delicious pastries and coffee for breakfast, internet access available (but not free).
