Service was great. Staff was friendly. Breakfast is normally served starting at 7am. However, since we had to catch an early train, staff got up early at 5:45am to prepare us breakfast. Dinning room is small, we were four of us, but had to sit 2 by 2.
No amenities, and a flight of stairs (no elevator). Walking up to the 3rd floor with even lightly packed luggage still recommend some effort.
3rd floor room's key are old fashion key, and require some practice to open and lock the door. Trick is not to push it all in and turn a full circle twice (should hear 2 click). Bathtub was small and horrible. Normal size shower curtain was laying in the tub and keep covering up the drainage, so have to keep moving it away in order not to overflood. Also, sink was outside of the bathroom beside the bed. Cleaning maid keep opening the windows while we were away, as such mosquitoes flown into the room, and with extra high ceiling unable to kill them, we ended up with a few mosquito bites.
2nd floor (friend's room) was renovated, but bed was short, as such my friend had to curl up his leg while sleeping.
Not the most expensive one for a hotel on the island, but could be better. If it is the first time to Venice, you will likely miss the street, as it is a narrow street (perhaps 6 feet wide). Very convenient location - 2-3 minutes from Santa Lucia train station, and Ferrovia Vaporetto stop.
Unique Quality: Excellent location. Quiet neighbourhood. Close to train station and vaporetto station.
Directions: Cannaregio sestiere, from Ferrovia or Santa Lucia station, (facing the canal), turn left go on Lista di Spagna, turn left on Calle della Misericordia, hotel on your left with a white lit sign.
