Location is undesirable; located on a foul smelling canal; and the hotel staff are very unfriendly. They forced my brother in law to pay for a night we had initially reserved, but cancelled weeks before we travelled to the hotel. Even with a letter from our travel agent they refused to acknowledge they were wrong. American Express saved the day by refunding the money for that night.
After a 14 day Mediterranean cruise we stayed 1 nite in Venice. Although we weren't familiar with the city, the hotel gave us excellent direction. We chose to take a private water taxi from our ship.( it's expensive but definitely worth it) What a wonderful ride. It was so beautiful going through the narrow canals. and driving right to the front of the hotel. The front desk clerk was very helpful. For a European hotel, it had very large rooms. I found the hotel on the internet and was drawn the picture. The hotel is small, out the way. but it offered all amenities. The hotel is close to all major sight seeing, but far enough from the crowds in St. Marks Square. The shopping is close by on Strada Nova. The hotel also offers tours to Murano. If you are looking for a cosy, romantic hotel. I highly recommend it.
