Reasonably priced hotel in Venice

This hotel has competent and friendly staff and a visually appealing interior. We chose to book a suite here since the price was about the same as a standard room in one of the more famous hotels. We booked online for a total price of 600 euros for a three night stay. After converting to dollars American Express charged me $838.
The suite was acceptable. The bed was large but the mattress and linens seemed a bit old. The room (105) has a large veranda which gave the room a larger feel. The bathroom and amenities were standard. The bar across the way was a bit noisy at night but it simply added to the atmosphere of our trip in my opinion.
Breakfast was included in the rate. It was served in a very nice dining room but the food was adequate at best. There was no internet connection from the room but I did see a computer set up in what looked liked a phone booth. I believe it was available for internet use.

Nice and quiet

Very nice clean well decorated hotel, not too far away from anything and not too noisey at night or in the morning, nice breakfast, nice staff, nice clean room`s,the bath could have been a foot or so longer, but that`s about the only thing wrong with this place.

Unique Quality: Internet access, pool table, bar, safe in room, mini bar.

Giorgione was a great place to lay our heads

Beautiful. It was absolutely beautiful. In particular, I remember the aqua blue blown glass in the chandelier and the aqua blue furniture. It was really unique, in a good way. The breakfast area by the pool was lovely, but the birds thought so too and wouldn't leave us alone. Of all the hotel breakfasts in Italy, this was my least favorite. But I liked all the food in Florence, Rome, and Positano better than that in Venice.

Unique Quality: Every place in Venice is expensive, but since this place was a bit removed from St. Mark's Square, it was much more reasonable than many other hotels. It was actually nice to be removed from the main tourist area. There were some great restaurants nearby, recommended from our tour guide and our hotel, that were more "local" places than tourist places.

Welcoming, central yet peaceful

A lovely old building, full of antique furniture, and squeaky floorboards! Very well located - only a few minutes walk from the Rialto bridge.

76 rooms, so a good size, without being impersonal.

Unique Quality: Friendly staff, billiard table, and free internet access, which was useful for keeping in touch with home, and checking on the weather!

Rooms included an umbrella, which was a helpful touch.

A Really Value-For-Money Hotel

Unique Quality: Everything you'd expect from a 4-star European hotel like: satellite TV, Radio, Mini bar, Safety deposit box, Air conditioning (in summer) and heating with independent thermostat (in winter), Telephone, Bathtub/ Shower, Hair dryer etc.

Non-smokers (like myself) are automatically given rooms on the 3rd floor - the non-smoking floor. When checking-in, ALWAYS remember to ask the Reception to give you a nice room with a view.

If you're looking for a fitness center to do your work-outs even when you're on holiday, fear not! The nearest fitness center is just 500 meters away from the hotel. Looking for a swimming pool? Again, not to worry.... You have access to the pool, a sauna, and a massage center located 1 km away.

THE Venice Hotel

This was the best hotel I have stayed at in the world. I have stayed here twice, and both times the same staff was working there, and Christian at the front desk was amazing. This hotel sits JUST far enough back that it is private, but is extremely close to the Rialto and San Marco. They even gave us a private boat to Murano to the glass factory which was incredible.

Unique Quality: The stays here do come with breakfast, and a beautiful outdoor courtyard!

Voted Conde Naste Traveler 2003 Best Value Hotel!

HOTEL GIORGIONE - a 15th century palace - was renovated in 1996 into a splendid 4-star hotel. It is located in the heart of the old part of Venice.

What do I really like about this amazing hotel?

The cost for a 1 night's stay at this hotel is very reasonable i.e. within my budget. The rooms are splendid... And it's locality (only a stone's throw away from Piazza San Marco) is beyond-compare.

No wonder, this hotel bagged the Conde Naste Traveler "Most Excellent Value for Money Hotel in Europe" 2003! Whenever we visit Venice (on our own budget i.e. not under company's expense), we will ALWAYS choose to stay here!

Unique Quality: For the price we pay to stay in this 4-star hotel (which is only a stone's throw away from Piazza San Marco), it is considered a steal! Room rates start from €110 (for a single room) to approx. €360 (for a suite).

There are only 76 rooms in this hotel... so if you come to Venice during the peak summer season, please book early to avoid disappointment. I'm sure the hotel will be running a full house from this summer onwards after bagging the Conde Nast Traveler award!

Honeymoon in Venice

by TripAdvisor Member fdepino

My wife and I were very pleased with our 4 night stay at the Hotel Giorgione in June 2003. The hotel is located in a great neighborhood and contains a beautiful courtyard for breakfast. Our room was a little small but what can you else can you expect in Venice.

fantastic location

by A TripAdvisor Member

After reading dreadful reviews of the Giorgione, we were very worried what we would find when we stayed at the Giorgione at the end of June for three days. However, the hotel was charming and delightful, the staff were very friendly and the best thing was that the location is tremendous. Just off the tourist route so we felt that we were in the true Venice with the locals and could avoid the crowds. Because of the hotel, our trip to Venice was very special.

Good morning to all of you!

From December 14 till December 21 I have to be in Venice.
Do you have any suggestions regarding the airlines (cheap and safe....) and the hotels (cheap and clean....)?

thank's a lot!

My suggestion of a hotel would be the Hotel Giorgione. Check it out on www.hotelgiorgione.it.

If you like a private accomodation, there is a very cute and new apartment to rent, it's near the famous Rialto bridge, private entrance, two rooms, kitchen, bathroom...
The price for 1 is 50 euros, for 2 is 90 euros and for 3 or 4 is 105 euros a day.Phone:+3292133565

We have also received some good offers from Hotel Mercurio (www.hotelmercurio.com) and hotel San Giorgio (www.sangiorgiovenice.com). Do you know them by chance?
