This is a lovely old hotel in Venice. I booked it by phone from Trieste (found it in Insight Guide to Venice - Discovery) and got a room for two nights for the following day. A double room with breakfast cost 100 EUR per night. The breakfast was a bit funny, but something to start the day with. We also had to walk to another building for the breakfast. (I understood that they have some rooms also in that building) The rooms are lovely with old furniture. The shower was great and the A/C was much needed during the heat wave of August 2003. The staff was very helpful. The hotel has a great location on the sea front close to San Marco's square and there is a main vaporetti stop just next to it. We felt sorry for tourists that we saw looking for hotels in the center of Venice, wandering along the canals with their suitcases...
Sea front, wonderful old style, old furniture, great location!
People working at the hotel were very friendly. I would recommend this place to others, it is a bit expensive but that seems to be the norm in Venice/Italy, can't really beat the location. Our room was boiling hot one night and had the windows open the rest of the night.
The location was outstanding, couple minutes walk to Saint Marc's Square. You can walk all over this city. The water taxi stop is right next to the hotel so you can jump on a taxi if you are going further.
