Great location

We had a great stay at hotel Torino; we are a young couple, travelling for leisure. It has been a romantic trip, it was our anniversary ;)
The rooms are cozy and romantic and the hotel is located in the city centre, so we easily walked around. Great breakfast, too :D

Unique Quality: Located right behind Saint mark Square!

great location with stuffy rooms

the rooms that we booked actually located in another building of the hotel. although the building is not far away from the reception building, it sucks if they give you the room on the top floor coz you need to climb up a lot of stairs.
other than that, the rooms that we got actually have a lot of problems. for mine, the mat was wet coz there's water dripping from the a/c, and the room smells weird and stuffy (caused by the water). so we complained to the manager, yet we were treated unfriendly by him. he kept on saying "it's impossible" and obviously didn't believe us, and he sent his coworker over to check. although his coworker told him the truth, the manager talked to me on the phone rudely after i said i wanted to change our rooms. he refused to get us other rooms and claimed no rooms available for us no matter what (but before tht, he said we could have another room on the next day)

i dunno the rooms of the main building, but i definitely do not recommend anyone to stay in the tht building. (dont be misled by the pics on its website!)

and i've to admit that its location is good and close to san marco.
one more thing, they will give you a 10% off if you pay in cash.

Hotel Torino - In the middle of it all

Have to say excellent location, its about 150 metres from St Marks square. A small deli just next door and right next to a small canal where gondolas hang about if you are after a trip.

Getting there from the airport is simple, jump on the Alilaguna which stops at St Marks square and its a comfortable 5 minute stroll.

Continental breakfast can be brought to your room for no extra cost which is a bonus for those of us who take a while to get awake first thing in the morning.

The only negatives I would say would be the bathroom is quite small, if you manage to sit on the toilet the sink is right in your face. You might have to sit sideways on the toilet if you are over 6 foot.

Also for the light sleepers out there the hotel from what I gather was a converted house, meaning the walls are quite thin. The people next door had 2 'energetic' children who would run around and shout a lot at 7.30am, when some of us who had late nights were still trying to sleep.

Other then that lovely staff, a real good looking hotel full of examples of Murano glass and I would recommend if you can find a good deal.

Unique Quality: I think some of the rooms could look out over the main alley in front of the hotel, but our room just looked over the back of some houses. There is a breakfast room on the 1st floor.

A great location

Call to get exact directions. If you are disabled or have problems going up and down stairs this hotel may not be for you as they do not have elevators and first floor of rooms is on the 2nd level. Good room service with light breakast. No views of Venice from the rooms. If you need a place to sleep on a limited budget with good quality this is the place.

Unique Quality: Next close to St Mark's Square. Location is a little away from the normal tourist traffic so at night there is not much noise. It is close to the Vaporettos, and is right across from some famous name brand stores ie.. Valentino, Prada etc..

An absolute gem of a hotel

The Hotel Torino is an absolute gem. It's location is spot on, near to the water bus stop at Giglio just a stones throw from all the "posh" shops, St Marks Square, Fenice Theatre and other major tourist attractions.

The staff were fantastic, my dad told them that me and my partner are getting married in Venice next year and they went out of there way to advise us of where to find the florists, a photographer and they even checked to make sure the Gondoliers were not going to rip us off and told us to ring them up anytime if we need any help with anything atall. Their kindness towards my parents, my partner and me was very touching.

We booked two rooms, one of which was extremely spacious, the other was a little on the small side, but for the price they are charging and the time you spend in the room, you really cant complain.

Personally I am not a fan of Murano glass mirrors and lights, this hotel seems to be very fond of it. But hey, each to their own!

Unique Quality: The kindness of the staff in this hotel (as described above) has deeply touched me and will remain with me forever.
