Location, Location, Location
Wow, loved this place. The location is so perfect. Across the alley and you turn right you come across a neat little bar. Turn left and make afew more venice turns and there's a laundromat... Turn left out the alley and walk about 2 blocks wonderful restaurants. I mean you take the San Zaccaria Vaparetto stop.. And you are a quick 8 minute walk to locanda correr...
You are only a 20 minute walk to the Rialto Bridge.. You are 5 minutes walk to the campanile and St Marc's Basilica and the Main Square..
Avoid the restaurant to the right of loconda correr, the ALbergherto I thijnk it's called, bad experience there...
Take the #5 vaparetto to the islands of Murano and Burano. Take the vaparetto #90 that goes through the main Grand canal for a cheap do it yourself tour..
Loved venice and staying on the island at night when all the tourists have gone is the only way to experience Venice at it's best!
Unique Quality: Location.. helpful staff.. Location.. Room was clean, what more could you ask for.

Secluded right in the centre of Venice
There are only 5 rooms in this tiny bed and breakfast hidden down an alley behind St Marks. It is not that difficult to find with explicit instructions. There is a steep climb to reception and there is no lift. That I suppose is the worst bit over with. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the bed was firm and huge. The bathroom was bijou but was modern and had beautiful fittings and heated towel rails. A lot of care and thought had gone into this lovely hotel. There was not much of a view but we expected very little given the location. The breakfast was OK and got us started without being anything out of the ordinary. The owner is very helpful and will sort out your needs at short notice.
There were superb restaurants nearby that were excellent value being so near the centre of the tourist area.
We booked through Hotel Connect and it cost £222 for 4 nights.
Unique Quality: Ideal location and quite position given that you are in the middle of the tourist area. Very good value for money and we would recommend this accomodation to anyone on a budget.
Only 5 rooms so bijou is operative word.

Cosy and beautiful B&B
I found this hotel after reading reviews on tripadvisor.com. All the guests who have stayed there gave 5* rating so we decided to book this place. We were happy we did.
This locanda has a very convenient location(on a back alley) and about 5 min walk from the San Zacharia vaporetto stop and a short walk(less than 10 min) to San MArco Sq. The place is very well kept and beautifully decorated with a murano glass chandelier at the reception cum breakfast area. The place is small with only has 5 rooms and we stayed in the Mansard room.
Room rates is very reasonable for central location in Venice and furnishings can be considered quite luxurious.
Unique Quality: The owner, Roberto, is very friendly. When we checked in, he gave us a map and orientate us to the various landmarks, which was a very nice gesture. Reception is manned 24hrs.
We took the mansard room(cos it's cheaper but there is a narrow internal staircase) and the venetian decoration of the room is perfect. I think the other rooms do not have the narrow internal staircase. The mattress is comfortable(but 2 twin mattresses put together, not a single king mattress... seem to be very common in italy even in 4* hotels), the private bathroom, located downstairs within the room is clean with the usual amenities. The room is also equipped with TV, safe, mini-bar, dressing table etc. all the amenities you expect in a 4* hotel.
It's one of those places where what you get is what you see on the website pictures... nothing less... which is great.

How good is Locanda Correr
I have already booked Locanda Correr near St Mark's Square. The cost was so cheap compared to other hotels. I can't believe it is as good as they say at this price £218 for 4 nights- has anyone stayed there recently.
I booked with Hotel Connect and they say it is very good but I need to have this confirmed - somebody help me please
