For some entertainment and historical architecture we didn't have to go too far away, because Residenza Al Pozzo is situated at the Campo San Polo (San Polo Square), which is one of the oldest and largest squares of Venice. This campo is the heart of the San Polo district. It's a beautiful square and especially the north eastern side of it faces some extremely beautiful palazzo's. The San Polo Church at the corner is from the 9th century and has all kinds of architecture in it, which makes it a very nice church to visit.
Finally we like to state that all accomodations in Venice are laughably overpriced, to add insult to injury, sometimes fully booked. By the Residenza Al Pozzo we found a nice and warm place to stay for a reasonable price. We like to thank Cristina and Michele for it!
The breakfast, no doubt about that! We received the first one in our room and it was quite rich with coffee, tea, hot backed bread, eggs, et cetera. We also enjoyed a breakfast at the sunny flowered terrace from which we could see the Belltower of the Basilica dei Frari.
