nearby st maria de formosa church
i was stay here about few years ago, invited by a formula 1 [F1] team. so if i go by my own or with my beloved ones, i am sure we'll never choose this luxurious hotel :) eventhough ... it's nice building, pretty old in her ages since built in 16th century by venetian merchant. and it's situated nearby the white church, santa maria de formosa.
Unique Quality: nice building with a nice room [even not so spacious since i'd got a queen size bed plus single bed within a room]. not so far from my fave white church.

Anyone knoe the name of the Hotel at this location?
Hello,
I spent a fantastic five days with my wife and grandchildren in Venice back in April this year (2007). We stayed at the Hotel Mercurio Calle del Fruttariol, San Marco, 1848 30124 (perfect location, very Close to the theatre, La Fenice). Friends of ours will be visiting Venice later this year and are asking for Hotel recommendations. I have recommended the Mercurio (Excelent) but remember that we looked at another Hotel in Calle del Fruttariol which looked extremely interesting. We thought that we had recorded the name but unfortunately did not.
Q. Does anyone know the name of this Hotel?
Its location from the Mercurio is, stepping out of the Mercurio front door, turn right in the direction of S. Marco and the entrance to this hotel is within 10 meters on the left-hand side of Calle del Fruttariol, just before the Pte Barcoroli. This hotel has a gondola landing stage on the Canal of Barcaroli which you can see quite clearly as you cross the bridge.
Any help would be appreciated as I have failed to locate this via the internet.

Could be wrong(and probably am)but the gondola landing stage clicked.
The only hotel that comes to mind immediately is the Best Western.

I can recommend the Metropole hotel. Excellent.

It's a 5 minute walk along the water to San Marco square and the vaporetti lands very near.

Could it be the Domina Vacanze, the Ca' Del Duca,Locanda Armizo or Helvetia Snc Di Rizzo Giancarlo--all in Calle del Fruttariol and near the |Mercurio?

Can't help with that specific hotel, but the Hotel Scandinavia on Santa Maria Formosa square was lovely....old, lots of antiques, a little out of the crowds but very close to the Rialto and everything you need, and a nice breakfast included.
