After landed at the Marco Polo airport, I found out from the info desk that there are shuttle motorboats that can get me to my final destination - Westin Excelsior on the Lido Island. The boat is not very big, about twelve passengers would be its capacity. It makes a few stops at Piazza San Marco - Hotel Gritti Palace, Hotel Danieli and then onto Lido Island. I did not feel too comfortable seeing everyone's luggage is stacked at the back of the boat, just a foot or so from the water. Half an hour later, I reached the hotel. This place is very elegant with its moorish architecure. I got a room facing the Adriatic Sea. The room is clean and well appointed. The concierge is very helpful and friendly. With their help, I got a chance to visit the island of Murano and its glass factory. The shuttle motorboats make at least 10 roundtrips a day to Piazza San Marco so I did not feel isolated. I would definitely stay here again, a big thumb's up from me!
