More about Villa Casanova
A wonderful place to stay
by TripAdvisor Member venicefans
We would definitely recommend the Villa Casanova. This is a really charming place to stay, our room had beautiful lighting and overall there was a very peaceful atmosphere. A great location on the Lido, the Villa Casanova is very close to the boat stop and so it's easy to travel around. The staff are friendly and welcoming and very helpful. We would definitely like to return in the future.
Fantastic place for romantic getaway in Venice (Lido island)
by TripAdvisor Member Przemek21
We spent fantastic two nights at Villa Casanova on Lido island for our honeymoon in Sept '06. Wonderful staff & host (Alessandro), delicious breakfast, bikes available on site, villa hidden away from loud, touristy places. Nice 15 minute walk to the beach on the other side of the island. In other words: great place with access to water buses that will take you anywhere in Venice. Make sure to buy a 3-day pass. Saves you money.

The view of Venice from the Lido is magnificent and Hotel Villa Casanova ideally situated within easy reach of all amenities and sites of interest. Recently restored family hotel. Our room was charming and nicely furnished. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast each day before leaving and found our room clean, quiet and restful when we returned. The management and staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful and we thank them for making our stay so very enjoyable. Excellent value. Carol and Paul Ledgerwood, England.
Very Special Service

We loved everything about Italy. But, our favorite place to stay was the Villa Casanova on Lido Island in Venice, Italy. The rooms were spacious, clean, reasonably priced and had nice little extras. We had a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room and no extra charges for bottled water. The breakfasts were great, fresh pastries. And, our innkeeper, Alasondro (hope I spelled it correctly) was very attentive: capuccino in the morning, recommendations for dining out and directions to get to the best tourist attractions. We would definitely stay again if we were in Venice.
Most Amazing Villa

Our short stay at the Villa Casonova was great , it is a beautful Villa , with the most lovelly rustic charm. , and the hospitality was brilliant, with a organic fayre of food.
Wit a eco touch / and fengFeng-Shui applied it seems to blend ultra-modern and old ,it is a environmentally friendly space full of energy and highly restful . A special place indeed.
We loved the stay very much and loved Venice, it is a fantastic place , we would love to return next November will book shortly ,
Very nice B&B in Lido

Booked through venere and got a great deal at 60 euors per ni in Nov. Ours is a superior double that overlooks the garden and is quiet, reasonably spacious and very clean.
Around 10 minutes on foot from the pier, the little gem occupies a lovely location in Lido. This was the 4th trip to Venice but only my first stay in Lido. Not bad at all provided you have sufficient time to spend in this lovely water city. If you only have a day or two, forget about Lido (or Venice) altogether. Burano is a great alternative to the main island and is easily reachable by LN line from Lido.
Trattoria Africa, just down the road and the hotel recommended, was nice and prices reasonable, though if you have time I would strongly recommend Ai Tre Spiedi. (Try Frommer's for the exact location.)
helpful, friendly and well situated

Alessandro certainly makes you feel welcome and is always available for any queries. Not to be beaten for value for money, the hotel is a stone's throw from the vaporetto and 12 minutes from St Marc's.
The price includes a buffet breakfast of the highest quality using organic products.
We really enjoyed our stay and will go back again.

VILLA CASANOVA
by JuliaK
Has anyone been there? It is located on Venice Lido. I have seen some really good pics of the villa and the prices for January are soooo cheap!!!
Is Venice Lido a good place to stay if it's your 1st time in Venice?

I cannot give you more info about the Villa, but are you aware that 'Lido' is a separate island and not the city of Venice? To go to the city of Venice, you'll have to take a Vaporetto (waterbus). I think, it will take you about 10-15 min. to get to the centre of Venice. I think, the villa is so cheap because 'Lido' is a beach island, and very crowded during summer but not much to do during winter.

Helga makes a good point. The Lido is a good place if you want to escape Venice for a summer afternoon ... For your first trip, stay on the main Island and find a small Hotel ... far from the piazza San Marco ... Enjoy

I argree with everyone about the Lido, for your first visit you should really try to find a place in the main part of Venice. I particually enjoy the Castello area. It is a bit more resedential, and although close to main attractions, not on the way to any of them. Sigh, Venizia..... Beati te e boun viaggio!

We stayed on the Lido last December. Accommodations are fine, but I found it a bit inconvenient to get to the major sight-seeing areas. This year we are going to stay at the Locanda al Leon 200 meters from the Piazza San Marco. If you are interested, their website is www.hotelalleon.com. It is a neat little hotel, and the owners are great and helpful.

thank you all for the notices!!!
We have finally booked in Lido.
the pice for 4 nights is 130Euros
and i don't think that we can find something cheaper or equal of that.
I have checked the hotel and it is great, and its style is less venetian ( I don't really fancy the venetian style rooms... gold everywhere and fancy colours is not our style) Unfortunately we cannot afford expensive holidays right now and that was like the perfect gift for us.
Thank you all one more time for you responses
