Great B&B in San Marco

This B&B is located only a couple of blocks from San Marco square. This old building facing one of the small canals provided great lodging for my boyfriend and I during two nights. At our arrival, the owner welcomed us. He was very friendly and talkactive. He gave us great information about how to get around the city, main places and landmarks, nice restaurants in the area, etc. He explained everything about the house like breakfast and stuff like that. Though his english was very limited we were able to communicate in spanish with him. When he took us to our room, he brought some pastries, snacks and he opened a bottle of some orange liqueur that was very nice. The first night we got a room in the first floor in front of a nice patio. The room was remodeled and it looked great: spatious, great big renovated bathroom (it even had a bidet), towels warmer, small tv, great closets, safe, etc, etc. That was the only room on the first floor which was great beause we4 had the whole floor for ourselves, however, the internet signal was very low there. For this reason, we requested a room upstairs and got another room. This one was smaller, not as new as the one the night before, but still good. It had a nice bathroom as well, but the nicest part was that everything was very clean and pleasant to stay. The breakfast in the morning was great. There is a receptionist, Cristina, who is really kind and speaks a little English. They have a person to assist with breakfast and another one to clean the rooms. The breakfast included pastries, eggs, juices, coffee, or if you wanted, you could request a delicious capuccino. It was not a continental breakfast, but a typical italian breakfast that we really enjoyed...actually that was maybe the best part of all. While staying in the second floor we had no problems wiht the internet. The house is very clean and stylished. There are plenty of books, maps and information at the reception desk that you can borrow if needed...they also provide the service of baggage deposit in case you check in earlier or check out earlier. You can leave your belongings there and come back later. We will DEFINETELY go back and highly recommend it to someone else.

Unique Quality: Great clean facilities, plus a great italian breakfast. The location is definetely a plus (near Santa Maria del Giglio vaporetto stop, five minutes walk from San Marco Square, near the Accademia.
