Wine Tour
by katkrisalb
Hello,
Is there a person or company that offers wine tours in the area. I am a huge fan of Amarone wine and would love to wine taste at some wineries. Is there a pick up and drop off service from hotel to winery and back.
Thank you.

Travel Tips for Verona
Cangrande I della Scala, Lord of Verona
by Azhut
Cangrande della Scala is the most important of the Scaligeri's family. Known for his militar conquests, he became the Lord of Verona in 1329 after the dead of his brother Alboino. His name is also famous because he received as a guest the immortal Italian poet Dante Alighieri.
Dante wrote many lines about Cangrande in his work "Divina Commedia" as you can read below.
Pd. XVII, 85-88
"Le sue magnificenze conosciute
saranno ancora, sì che ' suoi nemici
non ne potran tener le lingue mute.
A lui t'aspetta (affidati a lui) e a' suoi benefici".
This was the first glimpse...
by LysDor
This was the first glimpse of Garda Lake (see animation).
On the map I was just above the town called RIVA (upper/narrow part of the lake), ready to go down and drive to BARDOLINO where I was staying.
The road goes along the lake and through several small towns. This was starting to feel like summer-holidays!!
Piazza Bra - Museo Lapidario Maffeiano
by croisbeauty
The entrance to the museum is near Portoni della Bra and Filarmonico. The museum is founded by te Veronese scholar Scipione Maffei in 1714, and it is the oldest museum in Europe devoted to a collection of ancient inscriptions.
There is an outstanding exibition of stone slabs bearing inscriptions, statues, funeral urns, and bas-reliefs, most of them Etruscan, Greek or Roman.
How Italina can you get?
by rexvaughan
Here in this magnificent and ancient Roman arena they have operas every summer. You can see in the poster photo there are six scheduled for that year. I think they have been doing this for the last 80 years or so, so it probably will last. We were there unfortunately before the season for these performances - another reason to return. Wouldn't it be neat to see an opera in this setting? And I am not even an opera fan.
Packing List

Make sure you wear really comfortable shoes because the best way to see Verona is by foot and after walking through a lot of cobbled streets, I guarantee you that you're legs will be killing you.
